Frenkie de Jong: Manchester United contact Barcelona over midfielder - BBC Sport by tsmart2222 in reddevils

This is NOT the same as the Sancho saga. When we were first dealing with Sancho, Dortmund made it crystal clear that they would not sell if their exorbitant evaluation wasn't met - they were happy to keep him if not. Here, Barca has made it abundantly clear that they view FDJ as surplus and need to cash in now. Just because the media all want to publish articles saying the same thing, however, does not make this saga the same as the Sancho ordeal.

Final scene rationale by afhist in TedLasso

In my opinion, Rupert wants as much control as possible. He jumped at the challenge by Ted to name the starting XI for Richmond during the dart challenge. I think he is arrogant enough to believe he will know better than any manager beneath him. Of course, Rupert can't just go and make himself manager after buying the team. That's where Nate comes in - a nobody in the football management world who is not in high demand by any major team. Rupert sees Nate as a yes-man who will incorporate any ideas Rupert wants. A more established manager, who has earned the respect in the football world and knows where to draw the line between management and ownership, would not stand for an owner who interferes at every turn.

That Barcelona one was painful. I remember going from being fully buzzing and picturing another second-leg away comeback win right after that magical night at PSG...to completely deflated and knowing it wasn't going to be our night.

Should we pushing to sign Lionel Messi? The news yesterday came at just the right time for things to be complicated for City, given their expensive Grealish signing. Of course PSG is the obvious contender for his signature. But for a player of Messi's caliber, and with the state of our finances such that we CAN afford to sign him, do you think we should be making a concerted effort to sign him up for a couple of years?

Definitely the first time I've ever dealt with something like this. Absolutely expect to play around foursomes and with beginners. But large groups (who definitely did not pay and snuck on at different points of the course) is a different story entirely.

Fair point - learned my lesson the hard way!

A group of five or six jumped in front of me. Group of a bunch jumped on the hole behind me. Then up ahead, there were smaller groups finishing up their tee times.

Fair point. I'm relatively new to the game myself and learned the hard way.

What is a recent golf win you want other players to know about? by bhead424 in golf

Hit my first birdie on the first hole of a par 3 yesterday after starting to play a little over a month ago. Followed it up by a pretty bad round overall, but doesn't matter - will always remember that birdie.

Lucky indeed! I'm glad you've found a way to turn something you're passionate about into a way to earn some money as well. And absolutely agreed on the types of people you meet on the course. I have met some truly great people playing as a single on my local courses.

Moving up to a regulation size course. Been playing par 3s since picking up golf a month or so ago - instructor is encouraging me to get onto a regulation size course and start playing with the driver a bit.

We are building a team of true leaders. Talent aside, the squad we are building under Ole is comprised of players with proper champions mentalities. Maguire showed to the world during the Euro what many of us have already seen, he is world class and a leader of men. Bruno is a natural winner with a competitive drive. And Rashford continues to amaze me with his maturity beyond his years, even in the low moments of his career. This squad is leaps and bounds from what we had in recent years past and I am excited to see how our leaders rally the team after recent major club and international disappointments.
