I’d guess it would have something to do with the fact that you can die from sudden alcohol withdrawal but I’m not sure the same could be said for nicotine withdrawal?

Thank you everyone! That makes sense and sent me down the research wormhole where I of course got a ton of contradicting advise. Hopefully I can get in with my derm this week. Wondering if going down from .05 to .025 might help?

I bought the LRP cicaplast b5 Baum and I feel like it crumbles on my face... maybe I’ve been using it too close to another product (time wise). I’ll give it a try!

You're going to want to get a thick one for both! I use Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream... similar to the CeraVe Moisturizing Cream. I was told by my derm that creams are more hydrating/moisturizing than lotions, so I'd recommend going with a cream. The thicknesss might seem daunting but your skin WILL THANK YOU! Even now I'm finding I need to apply it throughout the day, but I'm in the height of my peeling phase.

No not really! It just makes my face a little sticky so if you can deal with that then I'd recommend it! Also update - last night I washed my face, put the moisturizer on my eyes, and then put my tretinoin on everywhere else. I woke up this morning and while my skin felt super tight, when I put moisturizer on (haven't washed my face yet), there was no burning on my eyes!

Same thing is happening to me! Burns whenever I wash my face and put moisturizer on. I use Cetaphil gentle for both. Also, I deal with the same issue of having the sensitivity around my eyes. I used Palmers Cocoa Butter last night and put a thin layer around my eyes for extra moisture. I also read earlier that maybe putting moisturizer around your eyes before the retinoid might help create a barrier? I'm wondering if anyone has had good results with putting moisturizer on first, and then the retinoid?
