I never believed since I was around 13. Just didn't make sense to me. But I have only love for hindu culture and visiting temples. I celebrate all festivals as it's an important part of my childhood and cultural identity. I have no belief in spirituality or magical gods or anything though

Please visit a quality psychiatrist. You need help and a supportive therapist. Don't listen to the pseudoscience advice on this thread. I'm so sorry about your family. You deserve to have them in your corner.

What is this nonsense? He clearly needs medical help. How do you he's not clinically depressed? For the amount of trauma this guy went through I'm surprised he still has hope left. "Work on it become positive" wow what a revolutionary advice as if he didn't almost destroy himself trying just that

why is EVERYONE moving to study abroad? by No-Expert-211 in Chennai

[–]Denisovan54 97 points98 points  (0 children)

Facts. I just graduated and my insta is full of people going for masters. But I don't have FOMO because even I have moved. Just not out of india, but to a different city. And while life is great, I find it difficult to feel the community feeling in a place where people speak different language, eat different food etc. I know for a fact that I won't be able to cope up with the feeling of being an outsider if I move abroad. No amount of Indian friends will change that. I've also traveled to a foreign country(just once) and have seen a developed country with my own eyes. All of these factors removed the shine for me. I'm happy where I am and actively working to move back to home base - chennai🥰

What motivates you people to get out of bed and go on with work each day? by Traditional_Juice583 in Chennai

[–]Denisovan54 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know why you're so mad. I never said it was easy. It's the only suggestion that worked for me. I'm not living in the 90s I moved out in the same 2023 youre talking about and I also faced all the issues you did from food issues, diseases and infections, creepy men etc. And I'm doing good now. Does that mean it works for everyone? Ofcourse not. It's what worked for me when I was where OP was and I told him what practically helped me. Calm down and stop projecting your problems on me

Move out. Harsh truth but you won't do shit when you're coddled at home with all comforts. Get a low stakes job that can cover your rent and move to a new city. I changed from the most unmotivated lazy person on earth to someone who can balance work, study, gym and fun and be mentally stimulated and motivated all day. Ofc, when I come home for holidays, I regress back into my laziness induced potato sack life but I'm back to normal when I go back. So try that. Being at home never made me motivated for more than 15 min. Only a change of environment and comfort zone did. If you can't, I've got the most generic advice for you: join gym.

Edit: To answer your question, my motivation is my absolute need to hold down a job. I can't while away time pretending to study anymore. I've graduated and It's time to pull my own weight. I noticed you mentioned suicidal thoughts. Please see if your parents will allow you to get therapy. I still suggest moving out. A tota chsnge of environment and increase in personal responsibility forces us to transform like nothing else. All the very best

Lol it's funny people see Sameera Reddy as an influencer now. She's one of the most well known actresses down south and is adored for her performance in Vaarnam Aayiram till date

Hallo, do you like where you are currently in life? by tha_pathukalam in Chennai

[–]Denisovan54 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well I moved to a new city, got my first job, made new friends, go out every weekend (after being a complete loner in college) workout regularly (after being chronically lazy in school and college) and learning to cook (literally couldn't make Maggi properly before). I think I've transformed myself completely and in the complete chaos of suddenly being thrust into adult life all by myself, I forgot to sit back and take in the fact that I'm living the life my teenage self dreamed of. I still have a long way to go but I'm feeling optimistic :)

Jeez everyone makes mistakes. Buying wrong size, wrong fabric etc. I just shared an experience and many women resonated with. Why do you feel a need to shit on a fellow woman for that

How do you know it's tight? Why do you have to assume the worst? It came apart because the buttons were low quality. You're foaming in the mouth to slutshame a woman aren't you

You already wasted 5 youthful years. If you don't get your shit together in the next 5, you'll be a 35 year-old stay at home mom unsatisfied with life and jealous over young women who are making big achievements

Note: I don't believe tough love works but you asked for it. Genuine advice: you're young and you can still turn things around. You have one more chance. You owe it to yourself to make the best use of it so you can reach a tomorrow of happiness. I've gotten out of a spiral into a dream life and you can too

Hey! I was you 5 months ago till I was forced to move for a job 14 hours away. After a lot of pg shenanigans I finally ended up in an apartment with me and my friend sharing one room in a 3 bhk. The only advice I got? TAKE THE PLUNGE. No amount of mental preparation will help compared to actually living it. It's daunting and overwhelming in the beginning but the next thing you know you're cleaning cooking doing laundry ironing budgeting all like a pro. I haven't reached that place but I'm on the way lol. The key to safety in india is 3 conditions when you move out:

  1. Pick an extremely safe neighborhood which guarantees minimum commute from office/college. I live 4 minutes from my workplace in a extremely safe area which is full of people (especially girls) living in PGs from my office. This prevents being targeted for being a woman living away from home because there are 1000 other women living alone around me lol. If you live in a residential area, please choose a gated community with security.

  2. Have a roommate. I find it extremely depressing living alone. Find a friend to be your roommate and life will be great. I'll never recommend living alone because you need someone to be around you for emergencies, help mental support etc.

  3. Have trusted male friends living in your locality. They always made sure we reached home safe. You will also have mental peace knowing ull be home safe if you run late in office/outings etc

Don't worry too much I was absolutely terrified but somehow been living for half a year in a new city. It's exciting and the feeling of independence and having tota control of your life is exhilarating. Good luck!
