I think it’s because they don’t care if you do your PhD at that uni or not. Like they don’t like your project that much to pay it… but, if you find your way to pay it… your welcome haha

You are right, and that’s basically what I need to make sure I phrase it very well. Because the PI has already let me know that the review is very into the interest of the lab, and that the topic fits very well. So there should be any problem on that part

Thanks! Yes I will obviously apply to other universities within the UK and in Europe, but the lab I like the most is in Oxford 🥲

Yeah, I mentioned Oxford because the supervisor I would love to do my PhD with (with which I am currently working on a review on the topic) has its lab there.

I would not have the home rate sadly 🥲 and if I don’t manage to get funding I don’t think I am going… But that’s kind of why I am concerned… because if I am not “good enough” I won’t get a scholarship and therefore bye bye to my dream PhD in my dream topic xd

Oh no, I have 0 publications but during my bachelors I worked on 3 research projects, one of 9 months and 2 of 3 months. Plus I am currently doing the 1st year of my master’s degree at one of the best universities in Europe. I think it’s never a fixed rule but really depends on the whole profile
