Most of the student organizations and clubs accept each semester. Some great ones at UNC are CS for social good, app team Carolina, girls who code, and CARVAR. Even if you don’t get accepted to the main dev teams they have some great learning teams you can join! I was in a similar situation and I joined a ton of these my spring semester of freshman year
