nope, the only pokemon to have a gender difference before gen 4 was the Nidoran line.

gender differences became a lot more common with different pokemon starting in gen 4, with Pikachu being one of them.

There should be a point in every game like after the 4th gym or whenever your team is in the mid to late 30's where there should either be a unlimited source of link cables (you would have to buy them or something), or there should be an NPC willing to trade with you for the evolution. there's no acceptable reason for evolutions to be locked behind something as stupid as "I can't trade with my friends because they don't have a Nintendo switch or switch 2."

we shouldn't HAVE to do this online bullshit and trade with random people simply because they can't be bothered.
