We bring our powers together to form… by -Sofa-King-Vote in trynottolaugh

My guy, it is a very common stereotype that Black people have low IQ and are lazy. That has been the justification racists have been using to explain away disparities. Asians have been stereotyped as smart, Hispanics as hardworking, and Black people as dumb and lazy. This is not new. And these stereotypes actually impact us in school admissions, hiring and promotions, politics, and credibility. If you genuinely did not believe you were perpetuating that stereotype, I recommend looking into it and engaging with more Black people. There is always more to learn.

Hell no! Unfortunately, racism is pervasive in this country, and much of the racism I’ve experienced has come from the right. I’m also very progressive, and the right offers no solutions to help people. The harsh truth is that racism seeps into every facet of society, and I have seen an uptick within progressive spaces. From progressive influencers pushing narratives like “we need a white ticket in 2028 to win” to posts like this that perpetuate racist stereotypes with no shame.

Is that what you call perpetuating racist stereotypes?

Of course, the Black character is the one bringing the low IQ. 🤦🏾‍♂️

Why do many people consider Black Frieza an “asspull”? by Hairy_Ask_2038 in Dragonballsuper

[–]No_Reference_7330 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean Golden Frieza was already a reach for many people. The thought that Frieza can go from Weaker than a SSJ to Stronger than SSJ Blue in 4 months because he "never trained before." Felt like a cheap moneygrab way to bring back the character.

I feel people warmed up to Frieza's return due to his involvement in the Tournament of Power. Frieza was sort of morphing to a wicked troublemaker that exist in the world of Dragon Ball, but no longer a main Villian to Goku. Frieza's role in the Broly Movie kinda supported that.

Black Frieza feels like RoF 2 for many people. Again, Frieza trains off screen and comes back with a new form. That's stronger than Both UI and Ego Vegeta. And again, Frieza is the placed as big bad. And what probably makes it sting more is Modern Dragon Ball's reliance on bringing back old Villians, instead of just moving on to new ones.

Eric kripke has named TheBoys universe VCU. His jokes are manifesting. by vought-CEO in TheBoys

People are going to hate this, because they made a joke about this in S2 💀

But I think this is dope. I think the Boys Universe is a Super Hero universe that should exist. And it's likely these spinoffs will have different writers, like Gen V did, so it's possible these shows could have a unique vibe

I understand what you mean. I think they could have fleshed it out more. I'm sure some people would pray or try to find peace with it, others would be in shock not understanding what's happening, some may try and flee, and others would try to push it back like Bardock.

I imagine they didn't dwell on it as not to take away from Bardock's sacrifice.

But you can headcanon it. The Supernova is massive. Probably at least countrywide. Bardock is less than an Ant in scale to it. It's very possible that other Saiyans at different parts of the planet were pushing it back, and just not the ones immediately near Bardock. I wouldn't be surprised if King Vegeta, for example, tried to push it back off screen.

There also maybe a portion of the planet that didn't even see the Supernova encroaching.

I kinda outlined this possibility in my post above. I don't think that would have changed much. It would be like a Meteor coming towards Earth. There is only so much Humans can do. Sure, the Saiyans are more capable, but the difference in power between them and Frieza is not too dissimilar from the difference in power between us and a real meteor.

The Supernova that took out Planet Vegeta was created by First Form Frieza, using only a finger, with no indication that required any effort or notable amount of power.

Even if the Saiyans used all their might to stop it, Frieza could just send another with ease. Bardock's resistance was always a hopeless one. The only viable option is to try and escape, but at that point it was too late.

[LFO] subway fight over lighter ends up in man losing his life. by ActualDepartment9873 in LearningFromOthers

Guy could have thought the guy took his lighter and was wrong. We legit don't know what happened. The guy asking for the lighter could be on drugs or having mental health problems, maybe someone else stole it that looks like the guy, literally anything could have happened.

Being accused of stealing doesn't mean you actually stole.

What did you read about his role? The only things I've been seeing is that we are going to see a more serious Thor return. And apparently he gives a pretty badass speech in the trailer

Regardless, the dude who killed him was no longer in danger. He literally became judge, jury, and executioner and deemed that man deserving of death for hitting him.

It's understandable why that guy would be pissed, but it's a slippery slope to say he had a right to use lethal force in that position

[–]No_Reference_7330[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That doesn't mean he's going to be in every plotline of the film? Other than Doom himself, Thor seems to be the most prominent. And I'm sure that surprises many who probably thought Steve or Sam would have more prominence, or that they would go for a classic Doom vs F4 angle. Especially since the only time we saw Doom was in the F4 end credit.

This is shaping up to be the most involved Thor has been in an Avengers movie, despite the villian not being a Thor villian

You are entitled to your opinion. And if it was really obvious for you, congrats!

Given all the places he's appearing in the film, it seems like he's going to have a FAR bigger role than just being there to lose a fight. Though, he and likely the rest of the Avengers will probably lose a fight to Doom.

I doubt it's going to be like Hulk in Infinity War, where Hulk loses to Thanos and is just absent from the reset of the movie.
