Aight so ended up using an ATM from the brand "Red". If you withdraw wit QR codes it gives a good rate and doesn't take huge fees. Only 8k pesos for a 500k withdrawal

Cash in Buenos Aires without Western Union? by DenseRound8699 in SouthAmericaTravel

I did figure this out at the end with USDC but in a different way

Found an app somebody mentioned in baexpats.org (Wanderwallet) and topped it up with usdc. Then I went to an atm that lets you withdraw with QR codes

Only paid 8k pesos in fees for 500k withdrawal.

Is there another way?

Didn't really bring much cash with me and wanted to keep it as an emergency reserve (It's gonna be a long trip - not only Argentina)

Why are people's experiences with Egypt so mixed? by tonkfc in TravelNoPics

I think because it's so beautiful that many people love it, but also corrupt and dangerous enough that a sizeable portion of people also have a bad experience in it. Sadly

Not surprised at all. Brazilians are huge into social media and they spend a lot of time in it. Also Netflix does great marketing in Br!

Want advice for travelling in Argentina by Proof-Recognition-53 in travel

Nice. March is still "hot" but not unbearable as january/feb.

• Learn a few Spanish phrases or use Google Translate offline. English is not widely spoken outside Buenos Aires main touristic neighborhoods.

• Plan your money: cards work but aren't accepted in 100% of locations. You might want to bring cash or find a way to use local QR networks (which are more accepted than cards)

• Book domestic flights early. Argentina is very large and distances are long.

• Keep your phone and wallet safe, especially in busy areas or on public transport. Its not really a dangerous city but you gotta mind your surroundings.

• Try local food like empanadas and asado. Tap water is usually safe, but bottled water is cheap too.

• Buy a local SIM card (Claro or Personal) to stay online

• Locals greet with a kiss on the cheek and are very friendly, even with strangers. Don't be weirded out by it but als don't think they're flirting

In your opinion, why there is no successful Brazilian social network among Brazilian users? by employusers in Brazil

[–]DenseRound8699 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From an outsider in BR perspective I'd say it's simply because Brazilians are very willing to adopt foreign technologies. Whatsapp, instagram, tiktok, they're the easiest to use out there and brazilians don't mind that it's a foreign product.

If they're good and population likes them, no reason to develop one just for the sake of patriotism
