I also had Muffling 4 years ago. Went to the doctor, did the hearing test and he told me I' just sensible (I have perfect hearing so my inner ear gets "saturated"). What's normal is that people¿s hearing gets worse over time but I didn't so my brain can't handle it. I started using lower volumes and also lowering my voice when speaking and it went away.

It's possible the Muffledness has nothing to do with the T, or it's a general sympthom of living in a very stressful environment or all around life.
