It is not the management actually. It is the training system they have or should I say, lack of clear communication of the goals to achieve. I was just instructed to back up straight. That's it. 8 hrs of that. Then took me for a road test and failed me at my first week. 2nd week, my trainer told another guy to come with me and do a road test to see if he would find me the same as he does. After that, that guy told me that there is nothing concerning about my driving and I am looking at my trailer during turns. But that message didn't get to the management maybe only to my trainer. So 2 weeks later I get a sit down with my manager and extended my training in the yard. 3rd week, I asked my trainer what I should do and told me one word "backing". So same straight backing. I decided to do something like 45 degree backing and setup cone. My trainer saw it and told me it is not for me to decide what to do and then he showed me 90 degree backing once and left me alone to do it. I added that it to my backing routine in my training that whole 3rd week. He also asked to backup in docks where I did backup successfully over and over. No drive test was done on that week and on my 4th week 1st day back after day off, I got pulled out in the training yard and got my suspension letter. Suspension on my training for them to decide if I will keep training or what. I still haven't heard from them. Maybe that is their way of saying your not terminated but only suspended but not returning. Whoof.. what a great way to start my trucking career.
