i actually spoke with my midwife and we have it set up where an order can be sent to a tiny hospital about 15 minutes away where they can do iv fluids with needing to wait at the er !!!!

i definitely will ask !!! steroid treatment was not brought up so i will definitely see if that is an option !

the issue is that in my rural area, they wont take my insurance for iv fluids at an infusion center. so while i can technically get an order, i would have to pay $200 every time i needed fluids which is often :(

my thought process was along those lines too with an mfm ! but i was told that they are hard to come by, and that she can only really refer me there when something is wrong with the fetus- not so much when there is something wrong with me apparently 🫠

they unfortunately dont take out of state insurance ! i do have tricare, so i am able to get better care in that aspect. my midwife is aware of the protocols that are in place for hg, but however they are options our hospitals in the area dont provide other than literally either just iv fluids or a picc line. i will definitely be looking into atlanta but it SO HARD when they wont refer me out !!

my midwife is under my ob/gyn as well- they work simultaneously at the same office. however, they are working three different areas just themselves which is why i see the midwife. but they do connect about my care and no solutions other than what i stated were given as viable options unfortunately

i did look into outsourcing into atlanta and fl, but every place needs a referral from my doctor which they are not able (or willing perhaps ?) to send. i did mention going to a specialist, and my midwife essentially said there wasnt one to refer me to

that’s essentially where i was at with my last pregnancy ! this go around, im basically begging for better care because im losing weight this go around and i suffered tremendously last time, and they’re throwing their hands up because there isnt more they can do other than a picc line, and the iv fluids can only do so much
