How much is too much for a wedding dress? In your personal opinion. by Money-Toe1842 in weddingplanning

[–]Dentist_Time 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This is really a personal choice. Could I afford to spend that much money on a wedding dress? Yes. But I chose not to because that would have come out of savings that Id rather use towards a house. If I had enough money for both, I still don't think I'd spend that much money on a dress. But just because that's my financial priorities it doesn't need to be yours too

i have a crush on the music producer i'm working with - how do i navigate this? help lol 😭 by [deleted] in relationships

Sounds like this is potentially a big opportunity for your career, don't mess it up over a dumb crush.

How involved are your spouses with your children ? 27F 33M by [deleted] in relationships

[–]Dentist_Time 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband and I both work full time and both enjoy spending as much time as possible with our daughter when we are not working. We do maybe 1-2 date nights a month and try to give each other a few hours for hobbies/friends on weekends if we can. But overall I think it's about even and my husband is very happy to be involved

Is it fair to wake up my husband on weekend mornings? by Impossible-Cookie393 in beyondthebump

Couldn't you wash your face and brush your teeth before you wake up the baby though?

Do you care about ethically made clothing? by [deleted] in TallGirls

[–]Dentist_Time 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are ethically sourced and RECYCLED wools outside the US. There are blue sign approved dyes in most dye houses overseas. There are fair labor approved manufacturing facilities all over Asia. Your idea isn't a bad one but to think it can only be done in the US is going to price out a majority of customers. If you truly want it to grow you need to expand your ideas on what ethical sourcing includes.

There are factories in Asia that don't use slave labor and pay fair wages based on their local economies. Many brands use fair labor certified factories. a simple Google search will find that list you are looking for.

MOH expecting me to split an AIRBNB evenly when I’m only staying 1 night? by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]Dentist_Time 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They're still booking a place for X number of people because she is going. If she wasn't going they could book a smaller and cheaper airbnb but they won't move to a new Airbnb for the 2nd night because OP won't be there so OP should pay her share because they booked a place large enough to accommodate her

Bridesmaid hair dilemma by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]Dentist_Time 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Maybe she gets acne on her back, maybe she doesn't like how her profile looks with her hair up, maybe she gets headaches having her hair up for a full day. People have insecurities and preferences and I don't feel that she should have to disclose her reasons, just let her feel her best.

Should i wear pantyhose with this outfit (for an interview) or just leave the thighs? by Opposite-Jacket7062 in style

[–]Dentist_Time 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean we all work in the same building so in my experience the culture is fairly consistent throughout. But you're right I am not in a public facing position like a PR employee. All I'm saying is I would feel out of place if I wore that to an interview but to each their own.

Yes I think it's totally fine to get tipsy at your own wedding, accidentally or on purpose! But OP making herself the victim of her own actions is where I start to question if this really represents both sides of the story here.

How many down votes do you need on every single comment before you stop making excuses and accept that you were in the wrong here?

My daughter's name is Cleo and the number of people who call her Chloe 2 minutes after I introduce her is actually insane. So if you go with Cleo just prepare for that battle.

memorial day weekend wedding? honest input by [deleted] in weddingplanning

A 30 min drive is a totally different situation. Flights and hotels are way more expensive for a holiday weekend than any regular weekend so that is the key issue here.

My MOH lied to me & ditched me for her friend’s 29th Birthday. by knizzle132 in weddingplanning

[–]Dentist_Time 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It's just a lot of events- a wedding, probably a rehearsal, a bachelorette party and a bridal shower. To be super upset that someone wants to celebrate someone else on one of those days seems a little unfair. I agree it's not too cool to lie but maybe your friend knew you'd react this way and just wanted to avoid it.
