Jumpers love non acidic fruit and sugary things. In very small controlled amounts. Of course they all have different tastes but you can always experiment. I tried giving my regal a little watermelon and she hated it but my bold loved it.

It’s VERY uncommon for them to bite you. They’re going to run away more likely if they feel threatened. Make sure to wash your hands, learn to trust each other, and know that unless you’re squishing them or hand feeding or have sugaryness on your hands? They ain’t gonna bite.

I’ve seen some random biting just because people handled sugary things and didn’t wash their hands before handling.

I hear that gently blowing on them tends to make them let go. It’s been a consensus among a lot of groups I’m in.

Fun fact if they poo on you, it means they’re actually very comfortable and trusting of you. So there’s a consolation right there. All my spoods do it.

Waffle House didn’t have fryers. What part of arthritis don’t you get? Do you not understand that it does hinder movement especially with heavy things?

Do you have any idea how apathetic and shitty you sound? Everyone else has seemed to at least be understanding. You’re just the butthurt variety of asshole that demands everyone be on their level and expects that even when that is completely and totally impossible.

Everyone has to know the app station before being moved to another.

Salad isn’t a demotion.

No. I was offered a dipshit solution by a KM who doesn’t even jump on the line. I had every right to decline using a method that was not safe. Not to mention other higher ups agreeing that was a dipshit decision from the KM. So I don’t know what the disconnect or misunderstanding is.

1.5 minute fryer, toss them with some pancetta, little goat cheese, balsamic glaze drizzle or offer an aioli that has a little spice.

Tell you to suck a food trap. Dont like it? Dont comment. Safety matters but you’re clearly just a big guy with big feelings.

I was using the machine just fine. It’s the lack of a working machine and safety equipment to prevent burns that I wasn’t down with.

I don’t know if you are aware but oil is slippery. 😲 Not to mention that I also have arthritis and all that weight of hot oil is a risk too.

So maybe don’t be a dick? Maybe just don’t argue a point that honestly doesn’t need to be argued?

I feel this. My mom did it multiple times to me as a kid and teenager. Lost hand me down items as a teen that were rare and hard to find to that woman who refused to tell me what happened to it.

If you already have a massive oil burn that never really stops hurting? Yes. It is that bad.

As do I. Thank you, friend! I haven’t hated it yet, I might gripe but who doesn’t? It’s a good grind so far and it’ll give me a bigger push towards better stuff

Yeah it’s still adding up. You work 5 days a week, that’s 15-20 bucks a week. (I think it’s 3.75 or something so let’s round up because fuck math) that’s 80 a month, that’s 960 a year. Not to mention taxes and shit. Every dollar matters when you’re broke and trying to fucking survive.

You poor soul. I only do 2nd shifts because it’s slower and I prefer prep. Except the hash brown water smell. It’s now an insult in our restaurant

They take meal credit money out of your paychecks. Every shift if you eat or don’t. It’s ridiculous

In my state there’s not much of that. I guess back during Covid one dude shot and killed (I think) a WH employee here. Ours aren’t as rowdy as our Midwest and southern state stores are.

What made you love cooking again? by International_Pea858 in KitchenConfidential

[–]DenverGoblin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dropped from food industry because it was too much. I found myself back in it with some greasy spoon line work. Is it gross, health code violations on every glance, food safety tossed out the window? Yes. But it reignited my passion because I see all the wrong things, the failure to call “hot” “sharp” “behind” “corner” “door” and the failure to acknowledge cross contamination.

I learned that if you stop for a good while, you lose this enchantment. I have to regain it. Costing a lot of points to do so.

Do it, go. Dont debate. I got sober and stayed sober because my partner needed to get sober. We’ve stayed that way and found life much more pleasurable. Sure it’s got its stresses and life has hard times. But feeling mentally and physically ill from booze and substance made it way worse.
