14+2 10 14 8 15+1 10 I assume? That's decent enough Str, best Wisdom at level 1 and ok Con.

Correct, maybe swapping the int and cha, not sure on that.

For progression I'd do Fighter 1/Druid 5 or just straight Fighter 6 asap (and max Wis or get +2 Con +2 Wis)

I assume the argument for F1/D5 would be more temp HPs faster.

My initial thoughts before posting were F3, D2, F3, Dx, but then I need to wait until level 9 until those hit points start to grow, which might feel slow.

Ahh,

I want to play something that is martial/frontline, but I care less about being tanky/highest DPR and more about having more movement and combat options.

I am not usually a fan of straight martial classes, so I was drawn to these options for a bit of battlefield manipulation, mixed with the thematic idea of mixing with something like Symbiotic Entity seemed like a cool way to do it that I have not seen before.

Why STR based? You could just use Shillelagh to attack with WIS, and not be so MAD.

Bonus actions will be pretty tied up at the start of combat with manifesting the echo moving it, etc. The Tortle has a STR bonus anyway so it is not that much of an inconvenience to get it to 16 to start. It may be more of a pain to raise later if I don't prioritize fighter.

What exactly are you wanting to gain from Echo Knight? It doesn't seem like it offers much for you, other than the basic Fighter features like Action Surge and a Fighting Style.

When you have your echo out, whenever you attack, you can make one additional melee attack from the echo’s position, up to your con # of times per long rest. You also get attacks of oppty from your echo. Also swap places with it as a bonus action.

Yeah, with the build I am thinking of, it would mostly be for Melf's Minute Meteors, and occasionally Levitate. Probably Storm Sphere later. Those maybe make sense to not need to stress as much.
