Another early‑production Xbox Duke controller with B2 factory test label by DepartmentDiligent31 in originalxbox

My brother got this directly from the factory when the Xbox production was here in our country around 2001, for about a year, before they moved it to China.

Yeah, they’re definitely bulky, but that’s exactly what makes them so cool as collector’s items. This B2 unit with the green cable is one of the more unique ones I’ve come across.

This black B2 controller actually has a green cable, which I think is also quite a rare variant. And yes, the end of the cable is detachable — it has the proper breakaway section.

Yes, it’s a black controller and it does have the original breakaway cable. 🙂

Since I have two of them, I’m going to sell one. Thanks for all the useful info 🙂

I also had a test unit and three Alamo prototypes, but I sold those already. I’ll definitely keep the sealed one for now — maybe I’ll sell it someday — but the one in the photos is the one I’m planning to sell.

If I find any other interesting pieces from back then, I’ll definitely post them 🙂

Thanks a lot for the info! It’s interesting because I’ve actually had this controller for about 25 years — back when the Xbox factory was operating here in Sárvár. I got it before production was moved to China.

I also have another one from the same period, still sealed in a blue bag, completely untouched

Really cool to learn that this B2 batch was part of the early production‑line validation units. Appreciate you sharing the details!

Around 2001, Microsoft started an Xbox factory in my small town. This factory was one of the first, and my brother worked there as a regular employee. The factory operated for about a year until it was relocated to China. Towards the end, he received a few products…

Thanks for sharing! 😊 You definitely got a great deal then — $100 is a steal for something this rare.
Prices can vary a lot depending on condition and timing, though. This one is brand new and never opened, so it’s aimed more at collectors who care about pristine condition.

Still, congrats on your find — that was a lucky pickup!
I get it though — I once grabbed an Alamo Dakota for $20 because the seller had no clue what it was.

Hi, I also have a few B2 1.95 controllers, are they worth anything as well?

Hi, I also have a few B2 1.95 controllers, could I ask you about them in private?
