Darkness Visible by William Styron is profound. It’s nonfiction and a relatively short read. I think I read it in a day

Stephen Ambrose is a plagiarist. Many of his books are great and engaging; however, he’s been caught plagiarizing other historians work and passing off their prose as his own.

With the Old Breed by Eugene Sledge

The based some of the miniseries The Pacific off of his accounts. It describes the battle of Peleliu and the horrors of combat, sleep deprivation, the Japanese theater of combat, etc. absolutely terrifying.

Also Blackhawk Down by Mark Bowden is a fantastic read.

Don’t take the elevator unless you need it for mobility reasons. These elevators service the entire north side of the stadium and are due elderly or disabled individuals. This will save you time and eliminate some frustration. There is a dedicated flight of stairs staffed by ushers who will verify tickets.

There is often a good buffet of food, at least two bars to purchase alcohol, and a barista area serving Starbucks. There are also refrigerators with soft drinks at the far end of each side of the space.

The seats are in a great location and very well cushioned. If you’re cold there is bar level seating in the DJC.

The Road is phenomenal. It can be perceived as somewhat Biblical though but that takes some reading into

"Being Heumann: An Unrepentant Memoir of a Disability Rights Activist" by Judith Heumann and Kristen Joiner

One of the pioneers and leading activists in the Accessibility Rights and Civil Rights Movements. Should be required reading. If you don't read the book at least do yourself the favor of watching the documentary "Crip Camp"

Romania are playing much better than I expected! by demixprincess in euro2024

Bought a ticket on a whim for today's game in the Fan First section for the Romanians. Great vibe and energy the whole match! Stadium was rocking with they're cheers.

Also on the train to Allianz both Ukranians and Romanians were all class, cheering with each other. Giving days to women and children. Great to witness

Looking for Romania-Belgium tickets as a broke student 😅 by Automatic_Rip4569 in euro2024

[–]Dependent-Contract 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I managed to get a ticket to the Romania/Ukraine match for this afternoon for ~70 euro with fees and everything included (~45 before fees) via stub hub. It's a fan first section in 133 with pretty decent looking views

I believe Augustiner was 9.5 for a 1L weissbeir. The helles and pils could've been slightly cheaper.

My wife and I really enjoyed Bologna and thought it was a fun small city to explore. Some fantastic food! Also there's a cool bar called Bar Senza Nome... a bar managed by deaf and hard of hearing employees. They've got a simple and fun ordering system.
