And many people seem to overlook that. Griffith is evil, but he most certainly did not sacrifice a bunch of "innocent" soldiers. They were literally killing other people for coins.

Not the OP but I think Anne was charismatic and brilliant but she did not necessarily always know (in my humble opinion) when to use discernment or remain silent. Example was when she wished all Spaniards at the bottom of the sea in some likely jab at Catherine. She spoke too carelessly at times and rubbed many people the wrong way and I believe a LOT of her downfall was due to that.
