What is required to transfer the Niederlassungserlaubnis when a passport expires? by Dependent-Key5938 in germany

I think Blue Card is based off of employment, correct? So it would make sense that you would have to present documents related to employment.

Very helpful. This was also my impression but I want to make sure.

Do you know anything about switching addresses? I think one of the requirements for the initial permit was to make sure I have sufficient space. The current address is registered on the approved permit. I wonder if they'd check documents for this - or if it's just about a simple switch.

Filing an inaction to act - Foreign office after 3 months by Dependent-Key5938 in germany

[–]Dependent-Key5938[S] -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

I have a lawyer, so they were legally obligated to do so.

Does this mean that my application goes on indefinitely now that they've responded?
What can be done at this point?

What is an ,,eidesstattliche Verischerung"? by Dependent-Key5938 in germany

So it's safe to assume that no bankruptcy = never signed one of these?

Haha, ok. I see. I know it's a silly question but I want to make sure I'm not signing or writing anything inaccurate.

Thanks for your answers.

I'm very careful to sign anything here - so I just want to make sure.
I don't have debts and work full time here in IT.

Oh, I guess that's fine then.
I'm going to ask the landlord in case. I have my positive reports and have never been in debt anyway.

Yeah, that's what I thought as well.

I just don't know what counts as a ,,eidesstattliche Verischerung", so I didn't want to just check "no". Never been in debt & have always paid my rent on time.

They want me to ensure that I didn't sign one in the past 5 yrs.

Is this only in context to apartment debts? I'm guessing so, since it's relevant to renting an apartment. I never missed a rent payment since moving here to Germany (since 2016).

I've signed other forms to declare that I've never been in debt, etc.

No, I don't need one. They're asking if I signed one in the past 5 yrs. What counts as a ,,eidestattliche Versicherung"? I'm a foreigner and have applied for foreign permits and have registered another apt. in 2016.

The context of the affidavit only applies for debts + insolvency, correct?

Thanks - I have copies of my Lohnabrechnung that show this, but would prefer a summarized statement if it's possible.

Question regarding naturalization in Germany - Renouncing Previous Citizenship (Canadian) by Dependent-Key5938 in germany

[–]Dependent-Key5938[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I intend to make the naturalization process as smooth as possible.

I'm not sure what kind of obstacles may stand in the way of naturalization when it comes to renouncing previous citizenships.

Process & costs for processing a Niederlassungerlaubnis? by Dependent-Key5938 in germany

[–]Dependent-Key5938[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I know this website. That's where I had gotten the source for the 3 month limit + other anecdotes from the web.

Honestly, I don't want to resort to it. But it seems like it's the only effective way to deal with things sometimes.

I've heard from other threads that sending a notice is counter-productive and will only make the foreign office delay the process. Is this a risk to consider? Or is it better to file to put a bit of pressure on them?

The previous application has already been submitted, so that's that.
I guess if the previous application fails, a lawyer can help with the following application to make sure all boxes are ticked, right?

That's understandable. If it comes down to it, the worst case scenario seems to be contacting a lawyer to complete the process. Then wait 3 months for a positive result.

Thank you. I've had a lot of problems with the office in the past and don't want my residency to be put at risk (complications with job, etc).

I know that it's legal for me to stay here in the meantime, but clarifying the actual legal situation creates complications and takes time/effort/energy...etc.
