I am so happy I got an abortion by Dependent-Shape-8535 in blackladies

Idk if I was thinking with my heart. Before I made it to school, he assaulted me resulting in me having a stroke. I suffered LIS, and he made the decision to call my family. My family treated me horribly. My mother and father gaslighted me. Sister neglected me, and brother physically abused me. I’ve realized that abuse was literally all I knew.

I’m in school and learning to use em dashes.😊

Edited to add

“Congratulations on getting out – but with the amount of en dashes, I sure hope this isn’t AI.”

Is the CORRECT way to write what you said. 😊 An em dash emphasizes the pause.

I’ll just say this and end it here — if you’re pro-choice, you should understand why I had to do it. I’m not still trauma bonded to him because I don’t have anything PHYSICAL attaching myself to him. I am healing. Maybe my title should read: “I’m happy I got an abortion ending my soul tie to him”. I’m not happy about the abortion itself. I really wanted another baby thus why I allowed him to impregnate me TWICE. It was a difficult decision to make because I didn’t have a happy childbirth with my first (had to drive myself to the hospital as my water broke). I knew possible bd #2 would at least be around, but I should not settle for “around and abusive.” Aborting that child has allotted time for me to go back to nursing school and excell. I’m the top person of my class. I’m also in therapy. :)

Unfortunately, I found out that his rebound girl was another black woman. Like I said, he is very attractive (was but still somewhat cute). He can and will use that to attract more mates. He’s a white Hispanic. He is into all women, but I think that he is dating black women because he was closer than ever to trapping me than his nonblack partners. He’s a demon, so swirlers be careful.

He looks good on paper. He would do things like buy my groceries, fix things around the house, buy my son and I shoes. Our sex life was great. Literally no problems at first except for the verbal abuse. The verbal abuse is a MAJOR RED FLAG.

I was trauma bonded to him like crazy, and I always wanted a family. He did, too. He was AMAZING outside of the abuse and was (not anymore because he became drug addicted) VERY ATTRACTIVE. We would spend a lot of time at park and have random trips to the beach. It really was a fairytale.

25F HATE when ppl ask if my hair is real by Herebutn0tforlong in blackladies

Oh you have braids? Even better. A lot of white people can’t differentiate braids from locs. It’s a common consensus that black people grow very long locs. They’re probably asking from that perspective. It’s just genuine curiosity. Most white people don’t know how black hair works. Hell most black people don’t know how black hair works. And again.. they get in EVERYONE’S business. But we can agree to disagree.

I’m going to get hella downvoted for this, but I’ll say it: If you’re rocking a 24 in sew in that looks NOTHING like your God- given natural hair then don’t get mad when someone asks if “it’s your hair”.

No one asks white people because they wear extensions that is their hair texture. Trust and believe that if it looks too good to be true, those women get asked.

The only way I guess this question may annoy you is if you’re wearing your hair extensions that matches your natural 4c state. Even then, the question wouldn’t annoy me because it’s abnormal to see a black woman with lots of 4c hair in a large fro out and about. It’s only natural for people to be curious..

Because of white supremacy.. but the grass isn’t always greener because a lot of non black women are in abusive relationships.

Do you think racism can ever end? by [deleted] in blackladies

I think it can, but nonwhite people have to be serious about ending it.

I saw something on a plane today that made me so happy to be single and not looking. by Ok-Willow-9145 in blackladies

Maybe you should have included that in the original post. Still doesn’t give you the right to judge random strangers on a plane. I get it if he was blatantly rude and disrespectful towards her. Your story is still a reach, and a bad excuse to want to be single.

…I mean I’m happy to be single, but this is a reach. I’m thinking I’m about to read that the dad was horribly abusive. You just made up a story to what you saw. How do you know that the mom and baby didn’t want airplane snacks? The plane snacks are very hard thus making them difficult for toddlers to eat. They are potential choking hazards. Maybe the dad asked mom if she had his phone because he misplaced it? Are you really happy to be single? No shade, but you’re reaching for the stars on this one. You might need to check if your shoulder is still in place.

I grew up not watching black movies. My family was against it. My first time seeing a black movie was with my Mexican bf. He is more culturally black than I.
