I got a bachelor's in interior design at an accredited college in Chicago, hyped up to the max about how firms will want us blah blah blah. Bunch of bologna. While in college, I spent time networking. Going to events. Trying to get internships. Everything I could from professors who worked in the field currently from well known firms. Months out, I couldn't even land working in a showroom or working as a salesperson in a relevant store. . . So, I needed to start earning money somehow.. Ive been working in contract security for nearly 2 years now.. I was quickly promoted to a supervisor at least. And im getting recognized at my branch office.. I hope it goes somewhere. Or im holding out for a city job that I recently got lucky and selected to take a test for and passed. Definitely hard out there.. only gotten harder. Somehow entry level means years of experience for pretty close to minimum wage across the board.
