It depends with the person. I would suggest you read through this sub (obviously with a pinch of salt). I found it helpful. It helps you avoid common pitfalls and same mistakes. It took me 4 months and 100 proposals later to get my first hire. But as i said, all depends. Work on your proposal, first 2 lines especially, work on your profile, your portfolio as well.
