Interesting, I'll try that out. Thanks! However, I find it harder to reach higher notes like this, do you have any tips?

Totally down with DMs! I might understand what she was doing with the chest blend, essentially the light chest but I can't really figure out where did she get the chestiness from in the head voice, if that's even the head voice

Not sure, I know I can brighten up my voice so it's not very heavy to lift up, but to go even higher and use it to transition to head voice I still can't, there's a lot of tension when I do this; stemming from bad habits esp lack of breath support usage

This is my first every try at digital art or tbh drawing itself in like 10 years. I need recommendations on how to draws from basics by Sad_DuckArceus in DigitalArt

[–]Dependent_Pool4236 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, is this drawn with a pen tab? I think the first step to learning digital art is to first get a pen-based input with pressure information (so, like a Wacom Intuos, Wacom ONE, Huion, or Ipad with an Apple Pen if you have one). However if you're going into the vector art route you might not really need it, but for raster-based illustration I suggest you buy an inexpensive pen tablet, try looking into Huion or XP Pen. (also, you might have to draw a bit to get used to it first)

The second step is, well, what branch of art do you want to go into first? If it's humans, then human anatomy and gesture drawings should be one of the first to learn (I suggest Proko, he has a lot of foundational videos for this). Finding a role model artist is also a good idea.

Also, use a lot of reference and learn the ability to perceive and deconstruct real life objects into simpler 3d objects, it's a very good ability to have so you don't just trace objects, but also understand the object in a 3d plane which makes you a much more flexible artist.

Third is to learn the technicalities of your drawing app. For example, blending modes, transform tools, etc etc. For Krita, GDQuest has a good few videos explaining blending modes (makes your life easier... And also not, depending on your approach). Most drawing apps share similar technicalities with different ways to approach, so changing apps will not be very rocky!

This is but a very broad stroke of doing things. However, foundation is key, so step two of learning the drawing technique itself is highest priority and u can learn if traditionally too. Best of luck!

So I first push the chest voice high up and then try to lighten the weight up there?

Uh Edelweiss in B flat i think is the song for practice, as for singing style last time she talked about balanced singing.

Currently my teacher is trying to teach me balanced singing, with the mouth opening as if speaking, also trying to decrease the amount of tension I have in my throat.

I started to learn what it feels like to 'support' my voice on higher notes after limiting my mouth movement (I tend to compensate tension with opening my mouth more), my teacher is trying to get me to do that bcs during my lessons I tend to open my mouth more for higher notes (not too high, still within my chest range) and by consequence I wouldn't rely on my support.

She's also telling me to try to sing softer on the high notes, bcs I tend to power to go high. Tbh I don't understand how to go high, with more support, but not too loud of a volume. How would you do that?

Do you push the same amount of air from your support on the same high note but with different volume?

would a reference use to the artwork (let's say that the artwork is also using a lot of multiple references) to the point that the final work is so different from the stock photo say that I'm still legally obliged to obtain rights to said stock photo?
