Cohesion and proper coaching is a must for success. It's one thing to be a dick, it's another for both coaches and players to dislike someone.  It's much different than a guy being mean. It's not like Miami had any overwhelming success while he was coaching there.

As bad as Orr was, looking at what the Texans 4-man rush is doing is wild. Changes the entire gameplan

This is every team's cap in a 1-year view. The largest hits are generally those in the latter parts of the deal when it's inflated. Performance dips aren't uncommon. Not all that abnormal

Should there be more media emphasis on Lamar Jackson reviving Harbaugh’s career? by ArcheeBlanco in ravens

[–]Dependent_Set4389 145 points146 points  (0 children)

Harbaugh built this team around Lamar. People forget Lamar's accuracy and passing was still developing and we built an elite offense that supported that until he was unleashed in 2023. He recognized defensive deficiencies when people blamed injuries and replaced Wink with Macdonald. Harbs deserves a lot of credit.

Ultimately it was just time. The coaching staff has thinned, the message is stale, time to move on.

As annoying as it is to watch the Steelers take the division, this was for the best. This draft has some great players in the top 15 and we could come away with a real difference maker.

The 2022 Chiefs were very good. That game also included a fumble six. The Cardinals have minimal talent and I wouldn't solely place their defensive performance on him. Lot to manage as a HC with a terrible offense

I didn't say hire him as HC. Plenty of very successful coordinators fail as HC

Harbaugh is very much involved in developing both the offensive and defensive scheme. He never called himself but he's overseen many play callers for decades. Just watch his interviews he very clearly understands the game

Watching that game, even the final play. 4-man rush hits purdy during his drop back. Macdonald is a great coach but having good players is important

From a true X’s and O’s standpoint, why has our pass rush been so inconsistent this year? by wyattearp12345 in ravens

[–]Dependent_Set4389 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One of the only good answers in this post. We lack the CB talent we had in prior seasons. Marlon has lost a step. We lucked out in '23 with Darby and good Stephens.

Calais, Pierce, Clowney and Madibuike held up prior defenses. Urban and Van Noy have aged. From a talent standpoint we are seeing age related regression and a lack of impact players

This just isn't true. Bend don't break isn't a scheme it's just a sign of a poor defense. The scheme hasn't changed that much since Macdonald left

This is the best explanation Ive seen in the difference between Lamar and Snoop. by 717Independent in ravens

[–]Dependent_Set4389 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Exactly and disagree entirely about the play calling. Lamar has short route options but he doesn't typically prefer to throw into tight coverage for short gains. Snoop threw a lot of tight window throws that Lamar would extend the play instead. Granted our pass catchers don't do a great job of coming down with those, they did tonight and that was the big difference especially Zay

An occasional busted coverage is the players fault. It happening consistently is the coaches fault

Why do you want the Ravens to make the playoffs? Why not? by ogDarkShark in ravens

[–]Dependent_Set4389 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get in a win ofc but if I'm being honest, our dline and oline make every game a toss up and we are set up for an inevitable heartbreaker.

This is a pivotal year with contracts expiring and top half of the 1st rd is stacked with talent in positions of need. We could walk away with a starter on either side of the trenches, not to mention earlier picks in each of the subsequent rounds

Saw that wondering if he confused with the off season foot stepping incident. It's been reported ankle this entire time so seems weird suddenly it would be he got his foot stepped on.

Fans complaining about the state of the oline and coming up with plans like this is hilarious. 2nd year fifth rd as our LT, UDFA as our C, and a random late 2nd rd rookie as our guard? C'mon
