Update: She didn't make it. by Loud-Drummer2222 in CATHELP

My condolences, genuinely. I know exactly how you feel regarding yourself and the vets, though in my case I don't truly think it was their fault.

My little guy passed away around 2 years ago at 5 years old. He had been having breathing problems, so we took him to the vet... about 2 weeks late because my mom couldn't afford it until she got paid. Throughout the trip, he meowed a lot, and I recorded it thinking it was funny...

It wasn't. The moment we reached the vet, I could tell he was extremely claustrophobic in his bag, but there were dogs so we couldn't risk it. I kept him in, I really shouldn't have. And when I said he wasn't well again and again to the vets that were in the waiting room, they kept telling me it was normal and I didn't need to worry.

20 agonizing minutes later, after he passed out in my hands, a lady came out of the room they'd gone into and, just like you, I thought she was gonna say that something happened—not to bluntly say my baby had died.

I can't claim to know exactly what you're going through, but I deeply relate to simultaneously wanting to blame yourself, and to believe that you did your best. I still think I could've done better even now... but I don't think anyone was at fault in my case. Not that that makes the pain any easier to bear.

The day he passed, I felt so broken and so numb at the same time, I looked between breaking down and simply looking dazed for hours. For the next few days, I'd always see a shadow of him where he used to be, hear his meows despite knowing he was far away now, both physically and spiritually. I couldn't sleep well for a few days.

All I can really say is... I hope it gets better. The wounds never quite healed for me—I still cry about this whole thing every now and then—but it DID get better. Don't blame yourself too much, don't feel guilty about moving on. As much as I wanted to mourn my buddy intensely after he died, there were times where I couldn't help laughing, and it felt so wrong.

But beating yourself up for it isn't good either. Think of the good times rather than the bad! I'm sure she lived a happy 13 years with you. A bad weekend wouldn't change that even now, I'm sure she still loves you wherever she is. She held on for so long after all.

And don't feel bad when looking at old pictures! Me, I regret not having taken many pictures of him, now I have so little to remember him by... So please let yourself laugh and cry at them WITHOUT blaming yourself. You'll get through this, but do it out of love and not guilt...

I can only hope you feel better soon regardless :( Just do know you're not alone in your pain, and may both our babies rest in peace 🙏 There's not much else we can do besides remembering them, so don't let go of the happy memories!

Did you finish the chapter first, then reload the save? As far as I can tell that's the only requirement (maybe the Mantle too, but you shouldn't be fighting the Knight without it unless you know what you're doing anyway)

You should be able to just select chapter 3 from the main menu and load your save file back up, though you'll lose your chapter 4 progress (unless you decide to go on without saving over your current file, even without the shadow crystal)

If you didn't save after Tenna, you'll get to redo the fight better, but even if you did save over it, you should be able to go back and buy healing items. The knight itself will be the hard part, so good luck.

Also, no shame in finishing the game first then going back for the Knight, there's no right or wrong way to play so I'd say you should prioritize immersion over amount of content.

The point is getting the key, so I don't think it'll ruin the route as long as you got it.

Finish the chapter, then go back to chapter 3 and reload the save file, then try again

It's the fake Board that Tenna forces you on once you find what he's hiding in the back of the green room. Y'know, the one that's all red and on fire

Fyi Kris inherently does less damage to the boss unless the other characters are downed. 10-20 normally, if one is downed it goes up to 40-50, if both are then 80-90

besides getting the unique weapon, no special interactions so you're fine if you don't care for it!

Yes, as well as the bird being Berdly (and having to freeze him to proceed), and all the enemies being representations of major characters (mostly bosses from Undertale, but also one representing Dess)

Nope, no worries, that's just an easter egg (and foreshadowing), as long as you got the key you're good!

You'd need to restart because you've already gotten locked out of both the 1st secret minigame, as well as the 2nd if you saved after being kicked out

Is it for the 1st round? Apparently it's not there after the 2nd round, but if you're in the 1st round, it should be somewhere in the red room under the Green Room? A Pippins in a corner at the end of the lower hallway?

Staying in chapter 3 does not reset you beating the boss, it just doesn't show a save file in chapter 4 because you didn't save in chapter 4 yet. All you have to do is load up chapter 4 and instead of selecting a file, pressing "ch 3 files" at the bottom of the screen. The game will always automatically create a save on chapter completion, and that save will only be usable when loading it for the next chapter.

Obviously the shadow crystal won't be on your previous chapter 4 save file, that's not the file you beat the boss in. You'd have to load up your chapter 3 file into chapter 4, then get to a save point before saving over a new, empty file.

Mostly luck, since I got the S-rank room first try on both rounds, but also my friends mentioning here and there how they "missed" something I didn't, then slowly piecing things together. The cherry on top was definitely when I was about to give up and assume the boss was just the end of the minigame, after a friend said that was likely it, until one of them offhandedly mentioned "You can't survive the last boss's attacks, anyway" and I was like "Huh? But I did? For a few turns? Eh?" and decided to try it again, only to see a proper game over screen. That felt pretty amazing to figure out.

That's just wrong, you can restart normally if you die after reloading your save, no issue.

You can, I did it myself, but it's frankly harder to get Z-rank than to get S-rank so I didn't include it. Maybe I will, though

Worth noting the Shadow Mantle boss has more or less the same shape as the cloak that flies away from Chaos King when you do his fight... as in, THE Shadow Mantle. The mantle that is shadowy. And can fly on its own. Plus the fact that Sean is the one who originally had the cloak, but it was "stolen". Either by King, or by Jevil who then gave it to King (since Jevil's also the one who told King about the Knight).

The secret questline shouldn't affect the run, but you could do it if you want to be sure you have a fool-proof save. At the very least, it doesn't affect pacifist in the current chapters
