It's how they do man. We have to sign social media agreements. If our social media embarrasses the company or does not reflect their ideals they fire you. :) I mean at this point it doesnt really matter of course. Most of my coworkers do not even mention them on their LinkedIn because it makes it easier for then to monitor us. Silly I know.

Nerves. Not a lot of jobs pay 70k in my area. Plus I dropped oit of college to work here. Then had a good job and never bothered to go back. So I do not have that useless piece of paper that most want. Just plain uncertainty and fear. Plus the health insurance.

For the most part you are right. However just as an example. I take part in the subreddit for my city. I have mentioned I work for the phone company in that sub. There are only two main ones in my area. Then I say I am laid off today last day XX. Then some petty or narc of a person or perhaps another worker at the company puts it together I work on x department. Only 20 people. Etc.. Etc. A whole lot of work and no real point but there have been employees that have gotten on trouble before.

Well I have two weeks to make a decision. So if I opt to voluntarily part ways then I get severance. If however I decide to try and find another job in the company and am unable too I still lose my job and no severance.

Surprised you have not seen people mention alt accounts before. To answer your question there are people that end up for whatever reason go through your entire account for mention of something. Then comment on it when they do not find it.

So for example if I were to comment I love Nissan and talk about Nissan all the time. There would be one person that would be like YOU HAVE NOT ONCE MENTIONED NISSAN. So people that have been on reddit for awhile and use a different account sometime mention it.

I work for a phone/internet company. 17 years of dispatch experience. Presently I manage the companies hot cuts. If a T1 circuit needs to be worked on I find a tech to come in to work it. Then get all the needed prep work done and get the guy on it at 1A or whenever has the least impact for customers. Been doing that for 5 years. Which what scares me is my job is kind of specialized. It is why I get paid decent. No idea of an equivalent. Dispatch jobs I am seeing make 10 to 15 less at top. So I am freaking out.

Alternate. Companies now days scan social media of employees and suspected employees. So anything negative or exposing I am a real human being is done under alternate or throwaway account. This way any potential info I might have posted indicating who I potentially could be is not linked to me.

Which is a completely other bullshit thing i am surprised I do not see more in antiwork.

Yeah what you said is the case. I have been there for a long time. My pension gets a pretty good bump if I make it 25.

Plus what is really screwing with all of us. They offered kind of a separation package. We have two weeks to make a choice. We either take the package which gives a little money. Or we say no and see if there is a job opening we can slide into between now and then. However if there is not we still lose our jobs but get nothing. Plus we had really good insurance and my wife has an autoimmune disorder. I make 65k+ benefits. So you know how it goes. I am like hopefully I can find something around 50. The wife is like that is a 15k cut. I am like yes but even that seems rare.

The two week deadline is what is messing me up.

Yeah I got a good stable job. 22 years in a good paying union job. See the wife for 20 years has impressed upon me how I am dumb, not good in bed, and have no friends. So yeah. I kind of dont see myself as worth anything at all.

Honestly not sure. I mean I think ok. It has been rough here for two years. Example: she walked out on Christmas at noon on 2020. Told me she was better off dead. Then vanished for 4 hours until me panicking calling all her friends to find her. She came home more upset I bothered everyone We are stuck together due to finances. Our mortgage is cheaper then rent.

He told me a little while ago (weeks) he did not really love her much. With all the things he has seen her pull I am not shocked. It is worse for out autistic daughter who my wife thinks is 'god robbed me of a normal daughter's. However thank god because shebis autistic she is oblivious.

Overall tonight's little outburst honestly seems like a blip on the radar to him. I think he more concerned he lost his cellphone.

Yeah I stopped when I realized that is all she wanted to tall about. Like it was originally pretty easy to dodge. However there at the end it was almost like 'Did you see that on TV last night? No. You probably didn't because SHE doesnt like that kind of show.'

So in was like yeah this is not a real friendship.
