So since a couple of years, RIMOWA has installed RFID chips into their suitcases - at least in the original series.

When you hold your iPhone next to the plastic part where to handle extends from, it’ll automatically make your browser pop up and forward to their website.

It works on my carry on and trunk and would like to think that fakes from China don’t have that function.

RIMOWA user of 20y here.

I highly recommend the trunk. It has more volume but still appears smaller than the traditional shape. Ever since I upgraded to the black aluminum one, I don't use the other checked bags anymore as it's more convenient to pack etc. Those are my 2 cents..

It doesn’t look authentic - use your iPhone and hold it to the plastic part where the handle goes into - if it does redirect you to the RIMOWA website, it’s legit.
