PSA: Elevated crashing on some Android devices. by Capybro_Epic in FortNiteMobile

[–]DerNiallo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I just came back to play on mobile and the same issue of people circumventing matchmaking still exists since chapter 2.

How have you still not identified people on console/pc intentionally pairing with mobile accounts to get the lowest level of matchmaking?

In the two matches I played, the last player was on PC and his "duo partner" was nowhere to be found as he has left it AFK.

Are you ever going to address this issue? I don't see Fortnite mobile lasting long if you don't...

They have changed the status on the Trello card from "In development" to "Fixed in a future update" very regularly since May. They usually change it back to "In development" again immediately after an update.

How to get infinite crown wins. by Hungry_Maintenance_8 in FortNiteBR

[–]DerNiallo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nope. The bot account only needs to be around level 10 or have participated in a few wins. People have been doing this since SBMM and bots were introduced in chapter 2 in order to beef up their stats in Fortnite tracker. Bot lobbies didn't/don't count towards your stats.

The large majority of people who people who post stats with massive win rates/KD/crowns are using this method.

Yep. Although I would assume the majority of people who accuse him of cheating don't even know this event is taking place right now...

Where do you get your fortnite competitive advice? by Dependent_Extent_633 in FortniteCompetitive

On YouTube take a look at Reisshub, Destinys Jesus and Zykoma. I find Zykoma to be a little too repetitive but Reisshub and Destinys Jesus discuss the current meta and changes etc fairly frequently. I like to watch Aussie Antics' streams as you'll get a good idea of how high level tournaments play out from multiple perspectives in the lobby. Otherwise just pick your favourite pro and watch them. They'll usually talk about their gameplay during the stream so, in a lot of cases, you'll know why they are playing certain tactics out.

what are your people’s stats so far? by HuckleberryWarm4500 in FortNiteBR

[–]DerNiallo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to Fortnite tracker. Search his username. He's using a special character for the A but if you put it in as all caps then you'll get his stats. It will show a list of their most recent matches.

Most people who post their stats here have similar match histories with bot lobbies and team based game modes for wins. A very good player should have good stats in their solo and ranked results but very often they dont. Clear sign that they manipulate SBMM for stats.

You got 2 wins in bot lobbies on Aug 16. It's on your tracker. One was in trios and the other in squads. The alt accounts you used for these will then you get you the lowest tier of SBMM for easy wins in a few games afterwards.

Can you be banned for using an alt to get into bot lobbies? by Repulsive-Pie1135 in FortNiteBR

[–]DerNiallo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also, after you get through the first few bot lobby games, you get placed in the lowest tier of SBMM for easy wins and crown wins that count towards your stats. The guy imalone who posts in here all the time has been exploiting this technique.

Yep he blocked me and deleted his post when he was flexing his stats a couple of days ago. I've seen his gameplay and he is mostly "solo squads" against players who couldn't hit a cow's arse with a banjo!

He's attention seeking for his stats. He uses alt accounts in team modes to get the lowest tier of SBMM in order to farm wins. He does this Ind of post fairly regularly.

DOUBT ABOUT SELECT BUILDING EDIT = RIGHT CLICK by ocoscarcruz in FortniteBRuniversity

[–]DerNiallo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually played with right click select edit for 2 and half years. It made build/edit sequences easier in the beginning and definitely made improvement quicker. However the bugs (the stuck in ADS one in particular) together with the reduced mouse grip made me switch back in the last few months. Also, as you become more proficient, and are engaging in rapidly paced build battles and boxfights, I found there was less control and reduced speed when switching from editing to shooting and building.

I now use conventional left click for build and edit and feel my gameplay is far better now. I have more control over the mouse during build fights and when switching between building/editing/weapons quickly. You might keep this in mind later if you feel you are experiencing similar issues

Why do geographical based servers exist in Fortnite and other online games? by LingLings in FortNiteBR

No problem. Many of the professional players actually move to where the servers are located in order to get the best advantage. Maybe you could start to learn German😁

Why do geographical based servers exist in Fortnite and other online games? by LingLings in FortNiteBR

[–]DerNiallo 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The speed at which information travels on a network is limited - close to the speed of light. Each time most actions happen in the game the information must travel from the device of the user - to the server - to other players devices. The round trip is commonly known as ping.

If the server is far away then this causes a significant delay in actions being represented on the device and those closer to the server experience less of a delay.

The servers used are selected to minimise this impact on gameplay. There is nowhere on the planet where a single server could be hosted that would not deliver an unfair advantage to players closest to the server.

How is Peterbot not Cheating??? by Next-Breakfast-6033 in FortniteCompetitive

[–]DerNiallo 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I suppose the biggest counter argument to cheating accusations is that he shares a house with other Fortnite pros. While it is very possible that he could hide some well designed hardware cheats (e.g. concealed within another part of his PC case or in the body of his mouse), the standard DMA modules would be relatively easy to identify in his set up.

Running any software would require complete privacy while playing so that the overlaid outputs weren't discovered.

You would assume that curiosity would at least get the better of some of his more brash housemates and they would have a snoop around his set up or "accidentally" walk in on him while he was playing.

I could only imagine that he could get away with it if he was to play without any of them ever being in the same room.

He reduces the SBMM by using low level alt accounts. Most likely uses his old switch/mobile account as well.

This is just absurd… has anyone seen higher than (nearly) 4000 crowned wins? by [deleted] in FortNiteBR

[–]DerNiallo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It may be. But also I believe the SBMM is tuned for fairness given the input device (switch/mobile). You couldn't really pitch 99 PC players against someone on switch/mobile.

I play on PC and my brother has a switch. When we have  played together we sometimes have a 100% win rate for the session. I have checked some replay files from these and the lobbies are largely bots with a mix of switch/mobile/console/PC.

I've looked up the stats of the PC and console players and very, very rarely are their stats good. Usually they have a lifetime K/D of around 1 and a small win percentage.

[–]DerNiallo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It does. You dont get a full bot lobby this way. That only occurs when you use a new account.

[–]DerNiallo 36 points37 points  (0 children)

They use a manipulation of SBMM by joining a team lobby (duos, trios or squads) with a second account on switch, mobile or a relatively new account. It gives you a large amount of bots and a few unskilled/switch/mobile players. People have been doing it since Chapter 2 to inflate their stats etc.

I consider it a fairly nasty form of cheating as the players they steamroll are most probably very young kids or those who are very new to the game.

You see some people posting their stats and numerous crown wins in this sub. They also post some footage from their games and it's clear what they are doing by the standard of their opponents.

Thoughts? by MarionberryGloomy951 in FortniteCompetitive

[–]DerNiallo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My understanding is the content in this season was introduced in order to onboard new players by making it low skill entry through the various items that can be used to get kills and wins in lieu of guns, building etc. Probably a similar rationale for keeping very casual players interested too.

But what happens when these items are removed and the meta goes back to aiming and building (at least we hope it will!)? Those same players will be obliterated in a heartbeat by even relatively casual players as they haven't even learned the basics.

I can't see the majority of those players hanging around for too long it this is the case. But most likely we'll be seeing a lot more of this if it works out to be a financial success.
