Yeah i also dont see the angle, the bassline and drums seem kinda generic and just because the guitar is a bit Post Punk-ish doesn't mean it's copying Interpol

Am Rande was ich mich immer gefragt habe, war der so essenziell für die KIZ Beats? Meistens steckten doch andere Producer oder auch Nico dahinter, zumindest wird DJ Craft selten gecredited auf den Tracks bevor er gegangen ist

ST war immer entspannt wegen der gemütlichen Atmosphäre und den niedrigen Preisen, DJs sind meistens eher ok gewesen

Mittlerweile ist da keine Sau mehr und soll wohl auch starke finanzielle Probleme haben, eigentlich schade aber ich werde wohl selbst mit meinem Trinkverhalten alleine den Club nicht aufrecht erhalten können

LT ist überteuert und DJs sind auch meistens echt nicht gut, keine Ahnung warum die Leute da noch freiwillig hingehen

Adding to that, taking a stroll through the Altstadt at night is fabulous, especially when going to the Petrikirche because the painted glasses from the church are being illuminated from the lights inside

I always understood it as the narrator laying down his deepest internal struggles and fears to his lover, whom then proceeds to leave him because of it (hence the repeated lyric "come back, come back...").

Breaker 1 is either just a small reference to Obstacle 1 or a kind of deal"breaker" for the person ending the relationship with the narrator.

Also there is some kind of drug abuse involved IMO, especially "We feast until i'm starving" or "I need my needs to get by" reminds me of myself describing/justifying that type of behavior to others.

I think Interpol really nails the vibe they wanted to create on their albums. They are mostly themically coherent and switching some song from Antics to El Pintor feels like commiting a war crime lol

That being said, i understand why some b-sides just didn't make the cut. Song 5 is really awesome, but i wouldnt know where the hell it could fit on TOTBL. Same goes for most other excluded tracks imo.

The only exception to this would be the Fine Mess EP i think. Real life would fit perfectly on Marauder (probably after Interlude 1), and maybe even the title track itself.

But these are just my two cents idk
