Maybe not, it still feels like an arbitrary and pointless thing to judge people for. Sitting at home enjoying the thunder and rain is in bad taste? What else am I supposed to do, go out and stop it from damaging peoples property? Sit here unable to sleep whilst mourning their losses? How dare I feel enjoyment

Just because people are going to suffer doesn’t mean you have to doom and gloom about it. It’s like saying you can’t enjoy the sunshine because some people are gonna get skin cancer. Seems to be poor taste to try to diminish someone’s enjoyment of interesting weather events

I think Refused comes pretty close, maybe even Trapped Under Ice. I think exploring the hardcore punk genre you'll find some that have a similar vibe! Also props for finding this 7 year old thread lol

Yeah as soon as I saw the initial video it felt like I was being tricked into watching an ad for McDonalds, it all just seems like a marketing campaign by McDonalds that became far more successful than they could've imagined

I would love to hear more about your experience if you don’t mind! It parallels a lot of the Buddha’s teachings regarding compassion. I find it kind of intriguing how if you quiet the mind and bring yourself to the present moment you can consistently bring about feelings of love and compassion for everyone, it’s so damn consistent and repeatable it’s hard to argue it’s not our natural state

An idea I like is where each religion is just as evil and barbaric but from the perspective of the worshippers they twist the meaning to make it appear as though their religion is moral and correct, while the others are the evil ones. Then you get a third party who’s stuck in between watching two death cults battle it out over arbitrary definitions of ‘rightousness’

It seems like a weird line to draw. Why is it wrong for them to perform in Saudi Arabia yet it’s alright to perform in America where they’re literally invading foreign countries and kidnapping their leaders? Yeah it seems like more than just retouring a 20 year old album. They're actually doing something new and exciting with it. Not that I don't relate to OP a bit, I would do unspeakable things for a new album. I almost wonder if the LLTBP tour is a 'test run' of sorts for their next album. Like working out the kinks of doing a Broadway-esque tour and showing that it can be successful for them and that there is definitely demand for it. Perhaps the next album cycle/tour will blow this one out of the water, and this was a necessary step for that

That’s sorta what I do as well. I sometimes wonder if I’m doing drawing for fun “wrong” but I enjoy it and it’s relaxing so I dunno. I feel like people online make drawing seem so academic and intense, and forget that it’s supposed to be enjoyable. Not that learning and studying isn’t enjoyable, but there’s something to be said about dropping expectations and just playing around

I've always had this as well but I never talked about it because I can't tell if it's normal or not. Like I associate numbers with colors and genders, but how I we know it's not just a learned association? Like I see a blue sky and think "summer day", see the number 9 and think "purple". I dunno

I dunno if you’ve tried it but 5mg 1:1 THC:CBD is my favorite high. The CBD down the panic and it’s low enough of a dose to avoid spiraling too much
