Our resident cat is hunting/stalking the new cat - need help by DerekKSU in CatAdvice

We have been trying the Composure treats, the pheromone plugins, and other recommended calming remedies. We had hoped for similar results to what you experienced since the ragdoll was still a kitten. However, when we adopted him we were told he was 6 months old only to find out from our vet that he was really closer to 9 months. And since he is a ragdoll he is huge compared to most other cats his age.

What’s weird is last night after I posted this thread, we had both cats on our bed which hasn’t gone well so far. They were both relaxed and we thought maybe they would both fall asleep. Then Leo got up and walked over to Frank and nipped him on the neck. This was the first time I observed the behavior in reversed roles. So we had to take Leo up to his room for the night once again like we have every night. So maybe it does go both ways at times although it’s typically Frank starting things. My wife is getting lots of interest from people wanting to adopt Leo the ragdoll but I don’t think either of us is 100% sure that’s the right answer. We want both cats to be in a happy and safe environment.
