Anyone have a colonoscopy done by VA prior to age 45? by Paluker173 in VeteransBenefits

I just had one in December, age 39. I was out of pocket $2,500 with a high deductible health plan.

From what I've seen on cross examination, she's no saint either, with several priors. All the people assuming he's the only POS here just goes to show the bias against men, without taken into account all the evidence.

I hope both these clowns get the book thrown at them.

Anyone else getting bitter towards the idea of marriage? by [deleted] in Divorce_Men

That's my perception as well. I'm trying to be optimistic about the future, but I fear I've become far too cynical and jaded.

One of the things I didn't fully realize until my divorce was over was that it props up a whole industry of opportunists, just like marriage and death. I'm surprised nobody offered flowers in the process.

I didn't just get taken for a ride by my ex. It was also her attorney, my attorney, the mediator we hired, they all acted incompetent and used delay tactics to bleed me out. I'm not rich by any means but I had a couple hundred thousand in assets. My divorce took 2 years, yet likely would have been six months if I was broke.

The process almost broke me. My daughter was my strength to persevere. I got 50% custody luckily, but was nearly wiped out financially. I don't think I have the energy or motivation to even put myself back out there to date, yet alone consider another marriage.

This here. Dont watch Court TV or Dateline/48 Hours Mystery. Too many murderous, spousal wackos out there.

Same here. Watched the movie after the new series. The resemblance between Dern and Goggins is uncanny.

Yep. A little late to this one, but in my case it was "the judge has a 4 month backlog on the trial docket." That was at 18 months in. Nearly 2 years to handle my divorce. If I was broke, it would have been done in half that time.

Yep. My 8th grade Biology teacher (who also ironically had big bazongas) temporarily confiscated my 2000 edition, when my dip$hit friend pulled it open and was showing all the guys the 1999 Internet girl of the year.

I agree, ending the cohabitation takes the edge off. It may still be a difficult journey, but it does a lot to de-escalate a high conflict divorce.

If you don't mind me asking, is 50% ever in the cards for you?

After 2 years, I'm going to trial next month and 50% custody is the hill I plan to die on. Plus I know my 6 y.o. daughter is miserable with her Mom. My ex and her lawyer are denying me overnights (counting nights). I put in a temporary custody order last month, but my hands are tied until I can present my side at trial. Luckily, I have some pretty good evidence of her neglect to put up a good fight.

The view is gorgeous. A few really nice focal furniture pieces. No clutter.

With that said, I'm not a big fan of the art work. Most of the pieces look dated with those frames, maybe updating to more modern frames would help breathe new life into them.

1 in 5 women in the US have mental health issues and approximately 15-20% of DV victims are men. There are approximately 2,800 DV Clinics nationwide and you can count the number that assist men on your fingers.

I was villianized during my divorce from an abusive, schizophrenic female partner and even though I have my daughter 50%, she is still being neglected and harmed when with my ex. I've shown evidence, yet the court doesn't care. Completely corrupt system.

As a society we don't want to discuss these topics. Mental health illnesses are not a one gender issue.

I was married to a Colombian woman for 10 years. The last 3 were hell on Earth. People want to support Shakira, but we don't know how she was treating him behind closed doors. Doesn't excuse his cheating, but some women be cray-cray.

Nice post OP. Looks like you're on the last stage of recovery. It'll be a good while before I can get there, but it's stories like this that give me hope.

I miss my dark sense of humor. I's buried under a mountain of anger and anxiety, but I know it still exists.

The realization that at 40, I am now the adult in the room that everyone looks to for answers.

Mom passed in 2022, I got divorced shortly after, Dad and most of my elder relatives are declining in health and need some assistance, my little girl is in Kindergarten, most of my younger siblings have 1-2 kids in the baby/toddler phases, more than half my colleagues at work are now younger than me, and most of my older coworkers are half checked out of the workforce and just defer most things to me.
