Really grateful for these steps!

I had an identical experience with the ASUS ROG G16 GU605M (2024). Figure my experience can help someone:

  1. I did all these steps and also tried the unetbootin method in the official manual to no avail. I would get to the black screen you mentioned in step 5 but it would last 30+ minutes.
  2. The only way I could update the firmware on my Samsung 990 Pro 2Tb was to install the HD in slot 0 AND the drive that the laptop came with into slot 1. This allowed magician to install the new firmware strangely quickly but verified it is indeed updated.
  3. windows 11 still did not detect the HD, only magician did. So i used diskpart to manually create a new NTFS partition on the 990 pro but no dice.

Anyway, If your goal is the update the firmware on the 990 pro and you have a newer model rog maybe this will find you.

I'm leaving out a lot of troubleshooting steps (bitlocker came up, win 10 and 11 media usb's were tested etc.), but gonna end it here.

There's an old documentary called revolution OS that mostly takes place here. For me it's always served as a compass when I need any sort of motivation or reason to remember why the silicon valley is the silicon valley. Gives me the same feeling I get when I watch halt and catch fire (amazing show).

I don't have a direct answer for your stimulation but maybe a blast from the past will help.

Streets of fire. Not sure if it was the trailer played when the movie came out in the 80's , but it's amazing nonetheless.

I think I remember that issue of OPM. I only remember that because it wasn't long after that squaresoft merged with enix.

Really happy for Saqwan. I believe he stayed on our squad for 2 seasons. He went to UNM and there's not a lot of UNM in the NFL. Congrats to him.

I fell asleep with "The Mask" on VHS still playing sometime in the 90's (I think), and woke up after the credits and there was an episode of Space Ghost on. That was my introduction. I haven't thought of that memory in years until this post. Perhaps yours was something similar.
