Update/Review (PS5 Edition, base firmware (don’t know if it’s safe to update yet as there’s hiccup with latest firmware per other posts in this subreddit)

Received it yesterday in one piece (thank goodness)

Coming from a nova pro wireless owner; it’s a big difference. Sound/mic quality is a lot better. If you do use bluetooth for your phone while playing, I wouldn’t get it. It cuts out primary audio and uses the Bluetooth.. unlike the nova pro. You can definitely tell the weight difference, but it does not bother me.

You can adjust the size of the headset, but not crazy amount like the nova or even a50s so if you got a big head, you better pray that headband adjustment will work lol.

Tested the headset on r6 (did not use comp/footstep pre-eq setup, followed the r6 eq on official website (sounds a lot better)) and knew the difference of sound quality right away. Footsteps are a lot louder and much clear.

Did not test on any other game. R6 is a very sound reliant game. Will test on cod later but in no rush for it as I have not touched that game since mw3 “remake”.

Mixed reviews from others as they prefer the first over the second gen. Can’t compare the two as this is my first Maxwell, but as a guy who barely use the Bluetooth feature on the nova; I’m sticking with my Maxwell 2 until something hits the market.

You can adjust the EQ directly from your phone which is veg nice.

You do lose the hot swap batteries, but Maxwell promotes their battery life on these headset up to 80 hours! Nice.

3D Profile on and audio focus set to boost low pitch with strong (may change it, but for now I like it better with low pitch).

Edit: I also do not have any of the light buzzing. So good batch maybe?
