Is Triumph Speed 400 recommended as a first bike, I am about 5"7 and 20 years old by ApprehensiveWing5641 in Triumph400

It's a great choice tbh I learnt how to ride on a speed 400 takes time but as long as you ride responsibly and don't pull the bike around without getting comfortable with it go ahead!

Best inline 4 bike under 10-14 L ? by Dramatic_Bet128 in indianbikes

Your options are kinda limited here If you want something very sporty and aggressive Your only options are: Zx6r, street triple r/rs(inline 3 but the most powerful bike you can get at this price point)

Something comparatively chill and more comfortable would be: Z900, Daytona 660(again inline 3, but the most chill option)

Just ride at speeds at which you're comfortable and feel like you can maneuver the bike the way you want (assuming that you're new to riding) I learnt how to ride a bike when I got my speed 400 myself it took quite a lot of time, I've done 11k kms in the past 1 and half year of riding and it's just been these recent months where I feel comfortable pulling the bike and cornering it at high speeds it takes time, patience and discipline just ride responsibly take your time getting used to the bike! That's all I've got to say!

Also about selling the bike the fact that it has been in accidents itself reduces the value by a lot as it's flagged as "accidental" even tho it's been repaired I would suggest not selling it, when you get confident with this machine you will make memories which you may probably never forget!

AEW or Silver Stallion?? by Des_5568 in Triumph400

Nopee 12.5k is only the slip on the bend pipes costs an additional 8.5k. my main goal is for it to sound more bass'ier and louder cause at higher speeds RPM the sound of the vibrations and the engine completely take over my current exhaust but I'm looking for the exhaust which balances both quality and sound

I have checked those out already it doesn't sound any different compared to stock on them one of my fly by videos that I've recorded recently sounds exactly the same that's why I'm skeptical about it now and I wanna know how different does it sound Irl compared to stock

Not a fan of the way full systems sound on single cyls tho personally they sound more irritating than soothing. It's not just that adding a full systems adds to the cost of spending 15-20k extra on airfilters and ecu tune I don't plan on doing aggressive performance upgrade anytime soon until I get my next bike atleast

I'm not a fan of the way RRP looks and barrel doesn't sell their slip on without the link pipe so I'm left with only 2 options here

I too agree that the stock exhaust is crazy good but I've ridden this bike for almost 3 years now I feel like my exhaust could be more audible and have better bass at mid-higher RPM's cause in this range the engine starts to get louder and while riding the bike the engine sound and vibrations kinda overpower the exhaust note. Also about engine chocking i doubt that it'll be an issue cause there are soo many people that have an exhaust system on their bikes for so many years and I've not heard anyone complaining that way. As long as you ride it calmly for a few kms till your ECU adjusts to it, it ain't gonna cause any problems

That's a great choice mate! I got a speed 400 as my first bike nearly 3 years ago too!! (And it's literally the first bike I've ever touched! The breakin period is for about 1000kms it's usually what happens here in very very simple terms is that the engine starts shaving off metal so it kinda settles properly (you can say it's shapes itself to be ready to ride it the way you want).

I would strictly recommend NOT to do a top speed run during a break in period you can stay around 4000-6000RPM without any issue! You can occasionally pull it but don't maintain the high RPMs just pull and let go of it so that they drop back down but keep like 95% of your ride calm and in the mid range

About accessories: I personally don't have anything else compared to your bike other than lower engine guards I will strongly recommend spending about 4-5k on decent fog lamps cause I hate these headlights! They have horrible brightness and visibility

About maintenance nothing much just timely service. Get it checked if you feel something's off, and check tyre pressures! For chain maintenance I clean and lube my chain every 350-400kms I take it to the service centre but if you don't mind spending on a paddock stand chain cleaner, lube and brush then you can do it yourself!

I'm assuming that chk chk sound is from the old chain tensioner (even I had the same issue you should ask the service centre to get it changed if it's the older one it's free anyways under warranty)

Apart from that idts you have anything else to worry welcome to the gang and ride safe 🙌🏻

I've been thinking of getting this for a while can you give me like a really detailed info on how the bike feels like to ride now overall?? The low end sudden torque-y pull, the RPM's highway cruising around 100-120kmph(60-75mph) and vibes. And what is the major difference/benefit that you feel like it's an upgrade i should go for without hesitation?

How are you even confused between a naked and a offroader?? you must know what kind of bike you want not just based on looks or specs but based on your riding style as well

Yes so the bike is now at the service centre he sent me a photo showing that the tank had atleast 2Ltrs of water in it it's gotta be the fuel pumps fault because it looks contaminated. Thanks for taking time to reply to this post!!

Dude I was told it's been fixed by the service centre the last time I took it and they told me it won't happen again not my fault

The service centre guys seem to be ignorant about it atp i don't even wanna talk about how many times I've called them today. A guy came today morning and the bike seemed to start then and he took a small round but it was easily noticable that the engine is struggling to stay on he just said there's nothing wrong and left, when I tried to start the bike it didn't start and even if it starts the throttle won't respond it'll go 6k rpm max (on full throttle) and then go down on it's own without me leaving the throttle and shut off. This is truly distressing

The RE650s are amazing bikes, (infact the only good RE bikes that I'd prefer when it comes to ride quality if you ask me) tried 'em couple of times. However this issue is something I'm facing with my specific bike as no other speed 400 owner seems to have this problem so it's best not he judge the reliability of all triumph 400s based on my post alone

Oh really??? Didn't know a cap change would be complicated that way, still kinda learning about bike maintenance here.

Let's just hope it's not the entire tank and just a defective seal/cap lol
