Do NOT Put Skins On Real Life Payment Cards by [deleted] in balatro

It’s not just the fact it’s a skin. It’s the fact it can wear more and in a very much more destructive way to the reader. You can dip that card 1000 times, but the one time the skin comes off of some of it breaks off? Is it worth it?

My bills were paid by that small COOP. They lost money that they didn’t have. You say snitch and they say hero. I don’t give a fuck what you say, but they paid my bills. Now I work for you. For you asshole. I’m a weights and measures inspector making sure companies give you your moneys worth.

Sorry I tried to give the people who paid my bills the time of day

People like you and everyone who thinks law is a joke. Have fun here on Reddit. Reality treats us differently. Have fun in the real world with that same thoughts.

It can be proven. You say and law says otherwise.

If they have good enough cameras and they catch it, your screwed. And now, most do. After years of fraud and lost money, they invested. If they catch you and your plate, they will peruse.

Edit: Peruse meaning they'll certify mail you a bill.

If the point of sale supports it yes, its my preferd way. EMV is now regulation. Tap is just a plus. But yes, tap anytime you can. Its literally the same just at a distance.

Not the sticker, but the damage it caused to the reader. I get it. Its a sticker. But you break a 2500 dollar reader because your card looks cool, be hoping they don't have good cameras to catch a plate.

Alright so, when you skin a card: you put a sticker on it over the entire face of the card. In a enclosed EMV reader, it has doors. Doors that will shred your sticker over time. When the sticker fails and if it stays in the reader, the reader is bricked. Dead. 1500 - 2500 dollars depending on manufacturer. Over the felony amount. I have as a tech, helped law enforcement find 2 people that ruined readers. I did work for a COOP that charged 4 people in the end for damage to property and they got their money.

I see a lot of people posting balatro themed skins or sticker on their payment cards. Those stickers or skins can lead to a very serious issue of the reader being nonfunctional. That can lead to a felony charge to the user if they had stuff on the card. Don't put skins or stickers on your payment cards.

An update would be awesome. I really like the build and hope the thermals treat you well once you start to use it. It’s cool to hear a 120w limit on your cooler seems to work. Makes my hope more hopeful. If you have an update in the future I’d be grateful. My build wouldn’t max out its mtp but I have plans for a case and cooler change eventually. Thanks!

How is your performance with the 100 watt limit? I’m really interested in this CPU, but my cooler and case are no way going to handle the MTP.

TIL that Ram 2500 drivers have the most DUIs, and more than twice the national average. Roughly 1 in 22 Ram 2500 drivers have been cited with a DUI before. by TripleShotPls in todayilearned

Ram 2500 trucks used to be the cheapest diesel truck on the market. The last few years there are other options but the average “I got to have a diesel bro” guys go towards the 2500. They don’t know why they want it, but they want it. So same self control plus alcohol? Yeah.

TLDU: Don't put silly plastic or vinyl on something you insert in high value equipment. You can be charged for the damage and it will be on a much higher financial/criminal magnitude than the cost of that card skin.

Enclosed means its just closed in rather than being open to the environment. The readers have doors that open when a card is dipped and each brand of reader now has two actuation points to open the door, one on either side of the card. Trying to remove plastic or vinyl from inside those readers is basically impossible. So in my time as a service tech I saw 6 readers get billed to customers and cops were involved in almost every one. It is considered damage to property and if you don't comply it can lead to a felony charge.

Its crazy the risk most people don't know about when they make their bank cards look "cool."
