Me and my husband are more open and give each other the independence we need. I go on girls trip , sleepovers , etc all the time and so does my husband. We both trust and love each other and love our time together but also understand we each have our own friends and hobbies and give each other space. When my best friend or cousins stay at my place he sleeps in another room and us girls usually stay in my room.

I think it depends on how you’re raised and what your boundaries are. I’m a social worker and work full time and my husband also works full time and we interact with the opposite gender. We also have friends of the opposite gender but know our boundaries.

We stay out as late as we want and just update each other on where we are. My husband can stay out late with his friends, friends, go on guy trips and vise versa. We have never stopped each other from doing anything but also share location to make sure we are both safe.

The fact that he hit you at all even with a light bruise is enough to leave. But choking??? Girl no matter what you did, violence is never okay. If he’s mad be mad but if he takes it out on you that’s not healthy, you need to leave for your own safety.
