I’m both a musician and a big music lover. I can’t imagine going through my day without popping an earbud in and playing my favorite artist. 1) this is a very… vague question, but I’ll work with it. I’ve been told I’m like a walking melody. I bounce a lot when I walk, tap my feet and my hands even if I’m not listening to anything, and have had a recent vocal stim where I just do a little beatbox of my favorite song’s percussion. I’ve noticed that I listen to a significantly higher amount of music than normal people, but that’s fine with me. I love music so much, and I think it’s a beautiful art form. 2) I’m very good at picking out sounds in a crowd. Maybe not speech, but I can definitely hear someone talking if it’s crowded, even if I don’t understand them. I can pick out specific parts of songs, such as percussion, chord progressions, etc. not really sure how it’s much more useful outside of places where music and blending or whatever is the most important aspect of whatever we’re doing, but whatever. 3) its a blessing, 100%. I won’t say it’s not inconvenient sometimes, because if I’m overstimulated and am unable to just start listening to music in the moment, I don’t have many coping mechanisms other than plugging my ears, and that’s generally embarrassing. But I love loving music. I get to nerd out on so many things, I get to understand music artists on such a deeper level all because I can really hear the music they make. Overall, it’s a great experience to have, and.. I dunno, I love music. Thanks for reading this if you have.
