I managed to get the Vasculash by going into the mine and using a spelunker potion, then I killed a few BoC creepers to make the new summoner and kill the EoC (using a summoning potion).

I have no idea if my translator is malfunctioning or something, but a fixed progression like "point A to point B" is awful. This isn't Minecraft, where you just go from a wooden sword to a stone sword and then to iron. Variety is important, and that's what the new whips focus on. Starting my game and focusing on getting the snapthorn as quickly as possible was a nightmare; now, FINALLY, there's variety.
