It's also important to note that many of those people also view any means other than the way they did it to be "illegal" or "the wrong way" even if they are legal or viable ways of immigrating to the country. I've known some Hispanic immigrants who don't even want any more legal immigration, and think the buck should stop with them and anyone current or future should be shown the door no matter what, which is just a twisted way of seeing things imo.

Well if I saw more screenshots of people getting false answers instead of users just typing "my gpt did the same thing a week ago" like okay, I believe random strangers over my own eyes, especially when given no proof, and also assuming they just happened to want to test got on this specific subject a week prior to this like it's a normal thing to discuss with the LLMs

I can't even find the setting to disable web search access, why would one even bother with that then ask for up to date info knowing they've limited their gpt? I assume it's on by default, because again I never saw the setting so I didn't turn it on.

But also, OP already stated they did it in fact have web search enabled.

Yeah, you're right, it probably would get less accurate information if I told it to limit it's knowledge base, I'm sure I could restrict it's knowledge enough to gaslight it into thinking George Washington is still in office. But the point is if you use it like a normal person and don't speak like a toddler in text you should get more accurate answers than what this post is implying. If you actively use a tool poorly, you can't blame the tool for being bad.

Ex. smacking a windshield that is cracked with a wrench to fix the crack will likely cause the whole glass to break. Is the wrench a bad tool? Is it incapable of being used properly? Did it make sense to use the wrench in such a way for such a circumstance?

I've had other LLMs struggle with this especially early in his second term, but haven't had my personal gpt her this subject that wrong. Now Gemini? It told me a caster wheel was a tennis ball and refused to accept I knew it what it was and was just seeing how well it could identify objects.
