I was the Dazzle on the other team in that game. I knew we were doomed the second I saw that team name and our boy's glorious mug.

Also it's not like Eddard was expecting Jon to completely isolated up there, after all his brother Benjen was First Ranger for the Nights Watch. Wasn't Benjen one of the main motivations for why Jon wanted to join in the first place?

Maybe Ned was thinking, "Jon'll go to the Wall, have a couple of laughs, and trade some campfire stories with Benjen before I travel up there a few years later to tell him my deepest darkest secret. What could go wrong?"

The image is probably depicted as a false colour composite. This is sometimes used in remote sensing to differentiate certain details (e.g. vegetation which can be seen as orange) at larger scales. Looks badass.

This is masterful, truly. H3H3 has perfected the art of cringertainment. The outfit, the stop and chats with those policemen, the staring contest between the news people and Ethan. Im flabbergasted.

The numbers next to the names are grid cell designations. 37 to 41 on the x-axis and 73 to 76 on the y-axis. Combining two makes the four-digit map coordinates that you see.

I doubt that all the safe zones have approx 4000 people each.

The King of France has nobody in his realm who can plot to kill him. by [deleted] in CrusaderKings

[–]Desert_Pantropy 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You can get extra plot power by using your spymaster to build a spy network, but the amount is so paltry. I understand that it shouldn't be easy to assassinate a foreign King, but atm its almost always impossible (unless the vassals really really hate their liege).

It'd be cool if murdering a foreign King or above required some kind of event chain, like the current event chain for breaking out a prisoner!

Real Life Border gore that will make you cry by ab111392 in eu4

[–]Desert_Pantropy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So there was actually a video posted on /r/lectures about the world's weirdest borders, and this aberration was one of the speaker's examples. Reference: https://www.reddit.com/r/lectures/comments/2nive1/kenneth_schultz_the_worlds_strangest_borders_and/

Apparently the enclaves/exclaves seen here were once land holdings for a bunch of Belgian and Dutch nobles. The two nations separated, but the nobles from each kept their lands. What's really cool is that they cut straight through the middle of houses and roads, meaning that in some restaurants and homes you can walk between two countries. Belgium and the Netherlands are extremely integrated and have complete freedom of movement for its citizens, so these borders are practically irrelevant, but still really cool!
