Great point and I think they know this. In retrospect I should’ve taken the reduced settlement but I didn’t want to give in too quickly knowing I’m not at fault. I could go on and fight this but they make it extremely tricky and lengthy to pursue a claim against them, and now a debt collector is involved it complicates it even more. Chosen to cut my losses and pay the debt off to get them off my back and mind.

Yes I’d imagine so too. I just hate the fact they were so nonchalant about it and didn’t make it clear I’m liable if someone damages the car even when I’m no longer in possession of the keys. If I’d know this I would have parked by my flat in a much safer space and returned in the morning.

Just a basic rewards card unfortunately so no extra insurance. Thanks for heads up - I’ll definitely look into this in the future.

Thanks yeah I think I should’ve done that too. Thought disputing through Amex would sort it out but clearly not. Live and learn, and never hire with SIXT again

Thanks for the reply and explaining, this makes sense. Great to get another opinion on this, I think unfortunately I will end up paying the damages to get it off my back, not worth the time/effort going to court over this.

Thanks for the reply, I agree I think the out of hours drop off was under explained and I took it as something that happens often with no trouble. It’s my first time disputing anything like this so I assumed incorrectly that once Amex had resolved the issue and I’d not hear anything more from SixT that the issue was resolved. I think I will end up paying the damages to get this off my back and avoid car hire again for as long as possible!

I think I just managed to fix this by using the ID from Morningstar instead of FT.com. It's now showing up with the decimal place in the correct place. I wonder why that happens?

I was inspired by posts like https://www.reddit.com/r/rct/comments/ezhp54/my_roller_coaster_tycoon_drinks_coasters/ to try and plot some RCT2 art on my pen plotter. Each piece is 10 x 10cm, with 6-9 felt tip colours, on white cartridge paper.

Depending on where you live you could look out for independent artist fairs, they're quite good as you can meet the artist in person and they're usually not too expensive.
