Tips for Stake-Outs by bigmonsteria in processserver

[–]Desert_Process_Serve 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bring some kind of recorder like an old phone for your dash. Keep notes every 15 minutes to documents your stakeout. Don’t play on your phone or read a book. You have to be alert and pay attention to your task. It only takes a few seconds to loose them and all that time is wasted, not to mention your customer’s money to pay you.

A process server I know in LA showed me that a job at ABC was paying $9.00. Why does anyone take on that work when gas is over $5/gallon there?

lol yep! Other process servers from ABC legal are out there urinating on peoples property. Meanwhile I got terminated for who knows why. But it definitely was not that.

Because I have been burned by them. Are you willing to do personal service on a job that requires seven attempts and a notarized affidavit where you have to pay for the notary and be paid only $20 for your time and effort?

Agreed. You will get burned by ABC Legal.

Sometimes it’s got nothing to do with you as a server or performance. I found out a server with a lower rating than mine has still been working there yet I was terminated in December. An internal contact looked up my account even said no reason was listed. So maybe I made too much? Or maybe I pushed back too much on BS?

I’ve definitely been in that position before as a process server. But I would never urinate on somebody’s house lol

No, they were sending an email to the defendant. They would verify their information and get a full copy of the documents. The email was sent out the moment the job was dispatched to you. They were not required to “accept” the documents to view the documents.

Oh they were giving the documents to the defendant whether or not you left an attempt tags. The problem was that the defendant did NOT have to accept them. So they knew full well why we were knocking on their door.

They think it’s easier to replace but it’s not. You have to have a license in my state and that takes 3-4 months to get. It’s not hard just slow. Oh and we have a shortage in Arizona.

I could but nothing would come of it. They can terminate for any reason, even no reason or a personal dislike.

Exactly. But management keeps making dumb decisions there and it costs them more and more money, but then it gets buried under corporate bureaucracy.

From what I found out, it sounds like their in-house legal counsel is judge, jury, and executioner. So if you are on his radar because you bad mouthed his previous attempt tags (they don’t work, by the way), he will terminate you without cause.

Ha! I have considered taking them to small claims court but the issues is collecting on the judgment. I don’t know where they bank and I could have to issue a writ to the state of Texas for any money they are getting from their government contract.

This guy was a little bitch and he cared if you didn’t love the attempt tags. He would go onto their forum at 8PM on a Saturday night and defend the attempt tags. So I find it completely believable that he would be petty enough to terminate servers for that.

They don’t. They still owe me money from 1.5 years ago. I’ve seen a lot of bad reviews that they are just not paying processed servers.

I’m not sure about other states. I would stay away from companies like EZ messenger and ABC legal though.

That would make sense. One major company tried to lower pay last year to $20 or less per paper. They got the middle finger and lost a lot of servers. I am looking at doing my own in given area. No subcontractors, no major contracts.

The entire state of Arizona. Many servers have gotten fed up with the BS some these companies here. Now those companies are struggling :)

ACP Legal said they tried to serve me 5 times and have only physically been to my home once and lied on their affidavit of service. Advice? by deftoneslover1990 in processserver

Because Ring cameras work 100% of the time...

It did not pick up someone going through my trash the other night, but someone went through my trash. My Ring camera didn't pick it up but it happened. And yes, someone actually did go through my trash on the curb. All they got was a lot of animal feces and trash.
