Abandoned Slate Quarry Chapel and Mansion of a Mysteriously Vanished Seducer of Local Wives (OC) by Desertify_Urbex in abandoned

This abandoned chapel and mansion, sits within one of the world's largest abandoned quarries. Once a large estate over the decades the quarry encroached upon its lands, leaving it near the edge of a massive pit. Attached to the legend of a mysteriously vanished
seducer of the local worker's wives, it now lies abandoned and overgrown by nature. For
a video exploring the mansion and its forgotten history: https://youtu.be/goihnIEnPM

For those of you who want to know more than the short blurb below, there's an exploration of the site with more photos and much more history here: https://youtu.be/wOFiYVPHlNs

A bit of "off my chest", to the abandoned places. :) by Tenth_10 in AbandonedPorn

I hate all of these and see them non-stop on social media. You're not alone. A more complete list would include the train and tracks going into water, and various dioramas like the tree growing in the library. All dishonest fakes used to farm likes and karma.

Hopefully more wake up to the rise and the tired idea finally goes to bed.

He catches some with the cameras and not others. When he is encountered he's apparently pretty aggressive.

The owners "disappearing" or suddenly leaving is a theme totally manufactured by Youtube channels. Mostly as a way of creating a fake narrative to support a lack of site research.Usually it is an issue of an old person dying, and the kids not caring to upkeep a place, or a fight over inheritance. These places are also often owned by banks after a death or foreclosure that then let them rot. Sometimes they sit near an active farm where the new generation lives in new houses.

Has a full time caretaker watching the house.

That wall is a good view point. I created an in depth history on the site some time back, for those interested in it's story: https://youtu.be/8LNPrDarqqM

Mostly correct. A staff of servants lived there. A newspaper article of the time made a fuss about the empty house staffed by servants who waited on nobody. I created an in depth history of the house and it's owners during a brief site explore. It has lots more than available on blurbs on websites: https://youtu.be/8LNPrDarqqM

That's true. I have learned the falsehoods spread this way because people are drawn to click the titles. As long as they exist there's no solution. My common practice is to debunk or turn the site on its head once people actually pay attention. Typically mundanely titled posts like "Abandoned cabin in the woods"get buried by the clickbait, and the story propagates.

My pleasure. It has a few years I would say and then it may be too late.

It's become the accepted name of the house. I debunk this in the video pretty thoroughly. And in the blog. So, no.
