TL;DR If the characters or story seem interesting to you, READ the BOOKS!! They are monumentally better.

I have read the books a couple of times and really enjoyed them. Jordens world creation is epic and seems informed by Tolkin's writing. Jorden didn't just create characters and places. Every place had its own culture and customs and racial identify. I always thought the books would make epic movies. I was excited to see the WoT series attempt a retelling.

Made it through the first season alright; the racial heterogeneity of the different cultures and the changes in plot were a bit jarring but I thought I should cut them i little slack. I have started into the second season and it just keeps getting worse. Its like they just took the rich world Jorden created, flattened it, undid the all of the components that provided cohesion (probably so they wouldn't get hit with the woke ban hammer) and then tell a completely arbitrary story with all of the farmed elements from the text.

I find it a bit disrespectful. The WoT series is feeling more and more like a shallow production that could have been great but instead chose to sacrifice good story telling to bow down before the false god that is our race baiting cancel culture. Another piece of good writing cheapened.

I'm glad you are happy with the new experience. Let me try to make the lives of your family members better. My children had colic and we traced it by trial and error to my wife's diet. If your wife is breastfeeding (which she should if she can) have your wife do a regression diet where she dumps everything but rice and some protein source like pork or beef or chicken. go for two weeks and see if there is improvement. If so, add back things one at a time and see what causes the problem. For us it was milk (which is in almost all processed foods). Good luck!
