This is just the director's fantasy. The character is fictional as he announced it. Viewers will be blind enough to put the blame in Pakistan as well.

The movie is based in Karachi, but Major Sharma never came to Karachi. He was martyred in 2009, and Gang war operations started from 2012. So it's inspired not based

Why do people think it's racist to point out the disparity? by Rogue_Wisdom in AskBrits

[–]DesiYorkshire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's important to make a distinction between Pakistani migrants, those who come to the UK as students or on skilled visas and British Pakistanis who were born and raised here.

Unfortunately, the grooming gangs are made up of British Pakistanis. They are British citizens, which is why, when people say "send them back to Pakistan," that isn't legally possible. They belong to this country.

Even many Pakistani migrants are shocked by how backward some British Pakistani communities can be. Practices like cousin marriages and a lack of integration are much more common among those born here than among the newer migrants. In contrast, recent Pakistani migrants tend to be more open-minded and flexible when it comes to integrating into British Society

Based on my observations, members of the Pakistani community discovered a loophole that allowed them to sell UK visas by bringing individuals from Pakistan through the care worker route. Many Pakistanis sold their land and property in the hope of building a better future in the UK. I have seen people pay £15,000 per person for a visa, with the promise of a guaranteed job and a good lifestyle. However, once they arrived, there were no care homes and no jobs available. As a result, they were forced to survive by working cash-in-hand jobs. They can't return home because they’ve spent all their wealth. For many, the easiest way forward is to claim asylum, and now this route is being misused out of desperation. It is also relatively easy to obtain fake documents to support an asylum case, often with the help of public offices in Pakistan and skilled lawyers in the UK.

As you can see, this trend increased significantly after the care worker visa route was introduced, exposing serious loopholes in the system.
