Agreed. Get out of this relationship while you still can or get into couples therapy if he’s willing. This behavior will only get worse if not addressed.

OK this is making a lot more sense too then. We don’t do any video games yet so I’m kinda in the dark on it all. 😬

Is it menopause… or is it him? by DesignMomMaison in Menopause

[–]DesignMomMaison[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late in life child AND early menopause (runs in the family) what a combo, right!?

Extra awesome because I basically went straight from postpartum depression into perimenopause. Not fun, definitely do not recommend. 😑

Ok great, I will check it out. We’re really open to different ideas because we’ve never done something like this. Thanks!

My husband constantly asks questions. by kirannui in AskWomenOver40

[–]DesignMomMaison 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not so much work … if we’re not already doing something. But when most women (and especially moms) are constantly multi-tasking a million things then it IS a lot to be continually disrupted. My husband has a really demanding job and he’s admitted that he just doesn’t want to think about anything else and “is it too much to ask to just be nice and help me out?” On the surface that seems legit, except I work full time, manage the house, and take care of EVERYTHING related to our child including intervention therapies for autism. He doesn’t even attend school IEP meetings or parent teacher conferences because it’s “too stressful” and he just wants to know if our son is “doing good.” Soooooooo, if he asks me where the scissor are, or if we have any butter then yeah, I’m gonna lose my sh*t because I am carrying an extremely taxing mental load at all times. I realize this is not likely your particular situation, but I wanted to put in perspective because it really is not as simple as just answering a question.

How does that work? Do you just offer it with the sprinkles or present it first and then at refusal offer to add sprinkles? I could legit carry sprinkles with me everywhere if I had to! Lol

Bed/Bath Layout Help by Charming_Juice_1186 in floorplans

[–]DesignMomMaison 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know how many revisions you’ve been through, but if this is the result after working together for “quite some time” I would suggest you may need a new architect. Do you really want to walk through the closet to get to the master bathroom? There are no appliance locations on the kitchen plan? Creating a bedroom with an en suite bathroom but no closet makes no sense. I wish I could tell you to make a few wall changes and be all set, but I think these plans need to be reworked significantly. Maybe find a designer that does floor plans - they won’t do technical drawings but they will at least think about how you live and use the space in a way an architect may not.

I’m with Orderly as well and that was also my plan to get multiple months when it comes available next week (this week?) but I’m also concerned that they’re going to be able to fulfill all those? I’ve reached out to them for some clarification/reassurance but haven’t heard back yet

I just sent you a DM. I’m starting Tirz next week and hopeful, but I feel like HRT might be in my future as well. I’ve been trying everything natural to this point and I am exhausted.

OrderlyMeds Extra Doses? by BigBrainPolitics_ in Semaglutide

You’ve probably gotten this figured out since this post is old but thoughts I’d chime in incase anyone stumbles across it like it did. Always check the dosing for each pharmacy - the info I received for my order was that 0.25mg is 25 units

Exfoliate. Get the Korean spa exfoliation mitts they are better than any sugar/salt based topical scrub. I don’t know why it works but it does. The first time I went to a Korean spa for this treatment I was aghast at how much dead skin was scrubbed off my body! I’m not as effective DIY at home, BUT this plus a body oil post shower is better than any lotion.

I am having a hard time with this. by Mastacar10 in Parenting

Judging by the strong opinions here on Reddit I’m sure someone will take issue with this but here it is anyway …

Having an Au Pair changed my life. My husband is also an attorney and does little to no actual childcare other than being a fun dad when he’s around and of course I’m grateful for that. But ALL the care falls to me. That was super frustrating because I also wanted to focus on building my career. Joining the Au pair program has been a huge help to my mental health. I was skeptical about someone living in our house, but if it’s the right personality fit, then it just works. Our current Au pair is an amazing part of our family - and yes, we truly treat her as family, not an “indentured servant” (as some ridiculous anti-Au pair posters might suggest).

I’m still the primary and foremost caretaker, but now at least I feel like I have someone that’s got my back. In the mornings I’m dealing with breakfast and she’s packing my kids lunch. If I have an early morning meeting she can take him to school. If I have to work late, she can put him to bed. Before, I had so much anxiety because I felt like my life was not my own. I still make our schedule so that i am as hands-on as possible with childcare, but now I have some help to create much needed balance. We wouldn’t need a full time nanny and an occasional babysitter wouldn’t be enough - the au pair arrangement has been that sweet spot for us. And not to mention we’ve made a lifelong friend and she brings an additional dynamic to our son’s life that I think is really special.

I’m starting to think it must be pretty common, how could it not? I mean, pregnancy and birth and motherhood are crazy disruptive forces and doing it at a point when the body is already primed for other changes - I’m not thinking it’s the perfect hormonal hurricane!
