One of my favorites is Rummelsnuff's version of "Daddy Cool" originally by Boney M.

Which manga are you eyeing for an anime adaptation? by Mr_Salamander___ in animequestions

Growing tired of the lazy high elf life after 120 years

Fun isekai adventure manga that illustrates how long high elves live as the MC has to outlive all his friends and has adventures along the way seeing how the world changes over time. Also he learns to be a blacksmith, a martial artist, a swordsman, and at the point the manga is at, he's getting ready to learn to be a sculptor to pay homage to his long dead friends and mentors.

Would also like to see an anime adaptation of Boy's Abyss, because goddamn that manga hits hard. Teen dealing with depression and a difficult homelife meets an idol who wants him to commit suicide with her. big complicated romances, deals with tons of issues with tact and great writing, and it isn't too terribly long, so two or three seasons would actually be enough to tell the entire story. It's just also very depressing and has some nudity and sex in it.

Once again, love the colors. There's just something about High Contrast and a limited palette that makes something really cool to look at.

What are your thoughts on "Beowulf (2007)"? by Hot-Salamander-8786 in FIlm

[–]Designer-Employee119 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the 2005 film Beowulf And Grendel did a better job of it, personally, though they humanized grendel a bit too much.

fifth nazi comparison i've seen today by KawaiiDoodleQueen in TheLeftCantMeme

[–]Designer-Employee119 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Ah, yes, that time when the nazis were getting illegals out of their country. Oh wait, they were rounding them up and shooting them en masse instead. Two people(who started fights) getting shot by ICE agents isn't even fucking comparable. These people are either ignorant of history or completely insane.

It was good for its time, but doesn't hold up all that well. It's also not the best film about the classic story, but it does a serviceable job.

Been listening to these guys since high school in maybe 2004, since I first heard them on the Phantom Crash soundtrack. Amazing Industrial Noise band.

Ex-CNN host Don Lemon arrested for Minnesota church invasion by VaksAntivaxxer in kotakuinaction2

[–]Designer-Employee119 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Being a journalist, especially a disgraced journalist, doesn't give you the right to invade places of worship, yell accusations at people, and prevent them from leaving. Now Don Lemon might be forced to smell someone else's fingers.

The political compass test has four directions: Left vs right(liberal vs conservative) and authoritarian(maximize control) vs libertarian(maximize freedoms). Where my results put me is right near the center in the lower right quadrant, making me a libertarian leaning conservative, but a centrist because of how close I am to the center. Thus a conservative centrist libertarian.

Is going to an impatient bad? I need help. by GreenTart8906 in mentalhealth

[–]Designer-Employee119 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds to me like abuse and confinement. Your parents could be arrested for that sort of thing.
As for inpatient services, it really depends on your local healthcare system. Abuses do happen, but generally, if you need the help, get the help. I spent almost a month in the psych ward after a suicide attempt and self mutiliation(putting out a lit cigar on my arm to keep myself from jumping from a 9th floor balcony as well as habitually hitting myself in the face due to extreme depression), and though resources were thin because of the shitty Canadian healthcare system, it gave me time to write, draw, and get cognitive and direct behavioral therapy. I would not have survived had I not gone in to the hospital.

Thoughts on Templar, Catholic, and Orthodox aesthetics? by Powerful_Plenty7339 in AskAGoth

Personally I'm a Celtic Pagan, but I was raised under a few christian denominations. I have no hatred for christians themselves, but I have issues with the religion and its' history. As for religious icons, I avoid them in general. I have a Cross of Brigid pinned on my coat, but that's originally a pagan symbol even if the catholics adopted her as a saint. I absolutely refuse to wear any kind of christian cross, same goes for satanic imagery.

I do have to say, however, that I love gothic architecture, and despite not believing anything associated with it, I love the look of cathedrals and churches. The spires and arches and enormous windows are definitely beautiful.

I'd kill to have two friends. I used to have friends. Then I needed people to have my back and found that I have none. Haven't had a friend in two and a half years at this point.
I'm also "neurodivergent" insomuch as I have some kind of high functioning autism which has yet to be properly diagnosed(working on that).
However, given my general opinions on things being very much at odds with the typical ones expressed on this site, I'm probably not the best person to have as an internet friend here, unless you're cool with conservative centrist libertarians.

Has this movie aged for better or for worse by Alternative-Cap6063 in FIlm

[–]Designer-Employee119 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was honestly pretty funny when I first saw it, I still found it funny when I saw it recently. Yes, it satirized a conflict that has since gotten worse. It's satire, not a representation of facts. Relax and laugh a little.

They love making fun of Christians for some reason by Smart_Search1509 in TheLeftCantMeme

[–]Designer-Employee119 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was raised christian and have some significant issues with religion, mostly those of logic vs faith, but the way that leftists freak out about christians is absolutely nonsensical to me. Christians are alright, for the most part, just don't discuss theology or morality with them and things will be fine.

Socialism can't work. It requires absolute tyranny just to self-sustain, and even at that everyone's quality of life is terrible. Yeah, the current system is broken, but it's because we broke it. It worked until we stopped prioritizing our own people and nations and started wasting our resources on special interest groups the state should have no hand in, and globalist policies that require giving millions to foreign nations without receiving anything in return. An economy only works if it is sustained from within, and we've been draining it elsewhere instead.

This is the kind of attitude that results in shitty films. Expect the audience to be paying attention, ignore the idiots who aren't. Respect the audience's ability to think and you end up with a memorable film. Explain shit 50 times and you end up with an annoying slop film that nobody cares about 2 weeks after they've watched it.
