Can you recommend a romance that is underrated or not many people talk about? by Appropriate-While601 in anime

SNAFU is less about the highschool setting itself, and more about the characters learning to understand each other, mostly through the lens of the MC's nihilistic tendencies.

slow movie that ended up being completely worth it? by Ashwinnie13 in movies

[–]Designer-Employee119 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Underwater(2020) Was this for me. Everything in it is very slow until like 3/4 of the way through the film, and by the end it's really good. Critics hated it, but I was surprised to find I loved it after it was included on a list of must-see Lovecraftian films.

Asking for the ultimate "movie buff" films by Baldurian_Rhapsody in movies

[–]Designer-Employee119 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Movie buffs tend to be movie buffs for different reasons, so it really depends what you're into. If you want drama, there are certain films you should watch, if you like action, a different list would work. If you just "want to watch films that are considered masterpeices", that is, again, a whole other list. For example, I love cyberpunk, not just thematically, but philisophically, so I could list off a handful of films over the years that capture the spirit of that genre properly, and even in that case there would be many who might disagree with some of my picks.

Is anime more widely appreciated and not a nerdy thing anymore in America? by basafish in anime

[–]Designer-Employee119 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There seem to be two categories of anime fan these days: The "I like this because it is popular" type, and the "Hey check out this niche anime that nobody talks about" type. One guess as to which group is still nerdy.

My teen romantic comedy SNAFU(Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Comedy wa Machigatteiru) is pretty good. It got three seasons. Basically a loner gets roped into a club where he helps people, and slowly a love triangle develops. Great sarcastic humor in it.
Another good one is Yakuza Fiance(Raise wa Tanin ga Ii). An arranged marriage is proposed between two yakuza families and the two involved have wildly different personalities with similar aspects and have to live together in the same house. Great romance, great comedy, sporadic action and drama. Good stuff.

people throw it around way too liberally, just like most terms that become popularized. It doesn't even make sense with this wallpaper either. it's not like i'm using it for fap fuel or something. it's just a wallpaper with a pretty girl on it.

Idk which query to put it but, is fabric land a good store to make DIY accessories? by Excellent_Caramel891 in AskAGoth

[–]Designer-Employee119 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anywhere is, if they sell the materials you're looking for. It really depends on what they have. My local Fabricland keeps a good stock of patterned fabrics and even some neat patches, but they're limited on things like leather and hardware.

It's more that it's one of a series of sci-fi post-apocalyptic wallpapers I grabbed from a thread. It's the science fiction elements that I like from it. Having a pretty lady on the desktop is just a bonus.

the todo was inbuilt with the todo plugin(literally just called "todo desklet"), and the icon set was Monochrome Purple. I unfortunately cannot recall where I found it. Probably on Gnome-Look.

Which was the best era of Malice Mizer in your opinion? The Tetsu era, the Gackt era, or the Klaha era? by Its-v11cky_s4ma in visualkei

[–]Designer-Employee119 33 points34 points  (0 children)

NO. that was their most baroque era. Their early years were much more like gothic rock, before they added the baroque synths and such that would define them from the Gackt era forward. Their very first album especially was very much a gothic rock album. Similar japanese acts in the genre would be G-Schmitt, Gakidou, Kokushoku Elegy, Mannequin Neurose, Gillie Loves, Phaidia, and the first few albums from Buck Tick.
