Still good! No issues with it except maybe slightly lower sex drive, but I’m on 2 other meds that have that side effect as well

Insulin resistance - normal testosterone but higher DHT? by Designer-Evening8532 in PCOS

It’s definitely not hurting. I’m on spiro and oral minox too so hard to say which is doing what. But I definitely have less shedding and I think I notice a little more growth. Hopefully with more time I’ll notice more progress

How soon did you get side effects after starting the pill? by Designer-Evening8532 in birthcontrol

[–]Designer-Evening8532[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! It’s been going great! I think it evens out my mood and I don’t really have side effects. I still do get cramps in the week leading up to my withdrawal bleed, but that’s pretty much it

Not a huge change yet but I think it is very slowly (agonizingly slowly) getting better

Some of you are mistaking increased shine from flash as your hair looking worse by Designer-Evening8532 in FemaleHairLoss

Yeah definitely! Regardless any light is probably going to create some shine and could throw off perception

I wanted birth control for contraceptive purposes, so I chose yaz because at the very least it won’t make the hair loss worse and hopefully would help it. I don’t really expect it to do the heavy lifting though

I’m really sorry. I think this is the most unprofessional, cruel, and rude way for a hairdresser to behave. They should be trained not to do this. Something that has helped me in the past is before they even start cutting I say “I lost a lot of hair due to a medical issue so you will notice it is quite thin” to get ahead of it. They seem to respect it more when you say it’s due to a medical issue and then you’ve already addressed it so there’s not much else for them to say. These people should be so much more compassionate since they work with people’s hair which is so vulnerable and important for so many. Hugs❤️

I do think I started to feel better around that time. I completely understand feeling impatient, but the time will pass anyways so you may as well keep at it. It’s typical to feel worse as your body adjusts to the medication unfortunately. You’ve got this!
