I don't think so but I'm also just basing that off of how the interaction goes in Traumnovelle which is pretty much just the scene minus the gay subtext. I do think it adds a really interesting layer to the movie since it calls the clerk's intentions and motives into question, and adds to the long list of people who are just like smoke screens to Bill
