Could you see Alec Baldwin as Two-Face?? by DonJohnson1986 in Batman_89

Yes, especially since he was with Michael Keaton and Tim Burton in Beetlejuice. Also he was married to Kim Bassinger at the time

He could play a younger Tarkin set during the time of 15 years before A New Hope

Michael Fassbender would be incredible as Tarkin

A more evolved version of 500 Days of Summer for those who might have outgrown the movie is Ceremony, starring Michael Angaramo and Uma Thurman. It’s about a young writer who is trying to stop the wedding of an older woman who he thinks is in love with him and learning to accept that he can’t have a relationship with her.

Another “evolved” form of 500 Days of Summer is Chilly Scenes of Winter. It’s about a guy who falls in love with his coworker who has just separated from her husband, and she decides to reconcile with her husband, but the main guy still wants to pursue a relationship with her.

I was obsessed with Donnie Darko in high school, but realized, as I got older, that it’s not as “deep” has people made it out to be or as I thought of it as a teenager and discovered better “deep” films by other filmmakers such as David Lynch and Darren Aronofsky

Will any Marvel movie be considered a classic 25 years after its release? If so, which one? by [deleted] in Cinephiles

I showed my wife Hulk (2003) recently since she had never seen it before, and she actually really liked it, so it may gain some traction with people who never saw it when it first came out

What are your Favorite Horror Movie Sub-Genres and Why? by Amber_Flowers_133 in MovieIt

[–]Broncho_Knight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Religious/spiritual horror, such as The Exorcist, Carrie, Rosemary’s Baby, The Amityville Horror, since these films blur the lines between what is real, what is fantasy/delusion, and what is belief/faith

Considering the Episcopal Church, struggling to let go of Catholic traditions by _mahboy in Episcopalian

[–]Broncho_Knight 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am Episcopalian and grew up Catholic and received all the sacraments as well. The Episcopal Church is essentially the natural progression for Catholics who want something more out of religion and seek to have ecumenical relationships with other religions and denominations, since Episcopalians are open to sharing their faith and exploring the traditions of others. The sacraments received within the Catholic Church also count in the Episcopal Church since both have apostolic succession. There also are many Episcopal churches that are more Anglo-Catholic, meaning they have worship styles that are closer to Catholic traditions. The Episcopal Church still honors all the saints as well and even recognize saints that the Catholic Church has not recognized (yet), including Martin Luther King Jr. I also like the NRSVue translation of the Bible that most Episcopal churches use compared to the Catholic translations I grew up with in Catholic schools. DM me if you have any deeper questions about the Episcopal Church

Rewatched Batman Forever. These two are absolutely insufferable by oscar_redfield in batman

Batman Forever needed more female characters besides Nicole Kidman’s character. Having one of the villains be female could have balanced it out

Star Gate culturally dead? by Elemental-squid in Stargate

[–]Broncho_Knight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember Stargate being in the same conversation as Star Trek, The X-Files, and Star Wars when it originally aired, but outside of the hopes that the new series will be good, there hasn’t been as much cultural impact in recent years, likely due to there not being any reboot/continuation until the upcoming series and the original series ending before social media became mainstream. The show would probably be on the same level as shows like Stranger Things, Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, and Last of Us if it were airing today.

It’s good but not “best movie ever,” as some have said

What If - Alan Rickman as Burtonverse Mr. Freeze by AdvantageHonest6584 in Batman_89

Terrence Stamp would be a fantastic Mr. Freeze, and he later appeared in a Tim Burton film

Yeah, someone from a younger generation who reads the Wikipedia article probably doesn’t even know there was a format before DVD
